Well, my impulse disorder kicks in yet again. I now have a yellow sec. hand on my Black Monster. Tools: watch case opener, thumb tack, Yellow spray paint & Q-tip. Opened it up, used thumb tack to press stem release button. Pryed out movement...sprayed paint into shallow dish. Dipped Q-tip in paint and chased the seconds hand around the dial till it was yellow. Crazy, I did not even wait for the atch to stop ticking. Talk about impatience. Overall the job looks decent. This is the first time I have ever opened a watch. It was scary, but I believe I can do anything. Note: I did not even mask off the dial...it took very steady passes of the Q-tip as the seconds hand would aproach. I am actually touching it up now. so it should only get better. Attachment: YellowSeconds.jpg (Downloaded 74 times)

Your welcome Tony! Thanks...I am touching it up as I want it to look perfect. But overall give the dial some color. I like that retro vibe with the orange and the yellows. :D

Thanks Gaspar! I am as novice as it gets. You just have to be slooow. And methodical. I may just paint the chapter ring a flat black. As I am not sure if it may serve as a buffer between the glass and dial? So far appears to be fine and I pushed the movement back in with decent force. So I don't think it was too functional the chapter ring. Ilike the SS ring that is now visible. Attachment: NoRing.jpg (Downloaded 52 times) Last edited on Mon Apr 24th, 2006 05:41 pm by |

haha! This nifty little case opener i picked up on Ebay a few days ago came in handy. It's my only real tool. The rest of my tools are thumbtacks, sewing needle etc.

Man, even on a watch as inexpensive as my BM, I don't have the guts to try that! It looks great; I like both the yellow second hand and the no-chapter ring look!!!

Thanks Natgas! I am a bit impulsive...I had the urge. I knew somethig compelled me to buy that case opener. I wasn't too sure why. But I bid on it. 2 days later, we have a yellow sec. hand and NO chapter ring. :P
