I have a question about the Poljot mechanical mov't. I know the watch doesn't have a quick change date but do the hands only move clock wise???

No, the hands move both ways. In fact, the way you change the date is to run the hands around to midnight thus changing the date and turn the hands back to 8P.M. and then forward to mid night again advancing the date. Repeat this operation until the desired date and then set the hands to correct time. It sounds complicated but is really quite fast. The old Seiko 7006 movements set the day wheel the same way.

You are correct. Except that with the Poljot's (HAND WIND MODELS) I have, you turn the hour hand until the date changes and continue to say 1:00 AM. Then you turn the hour hand counter clockwise until it reaches about 11:00 PM. Then turn clockwise past midnight to 1:00 AM again and repeat until you reach the desired date.

The Vostok-Euro automatic movements operate as you stated. Don't know about the Poljot autos as all of my Poljots are manual wind.
:)

Since I just got the watch and I'm new to Russians...So if my watch doesn't got backwards (hands don't move) there maybe something wrong with the watch?? I would say the watch is broke if it didn't wind but it winds, sets date, hands move cw but not ccw:?

To me, that seems like a reason to return the watch.

Since I have the exact same model as you just received, I just checked it. Unscrewing the crown and pulling it out all the way my hands easily move in both directions. That is the way it should operate.
