Is Rolex releasing a "stealth" version of one of its models? I remember seeing a photo of one with a all grey/black dial and indexes. Would fit the modern batman aka "The black knight".

Found the photo... Dont know if its a prototype, fake or a real model. Looks cool though!

Nice stealthy Rolex Patrik.

But without the green lettering on the dial and with a black date wheel it would look better.

I agree, but if you Google "Rolex Stealth" you will find a whole series of photos of different models and versions.

This is why i was questioning if its fake, real or just prototypes.

If i would win a huge amount of money on the lottery , this type of Rolex would make my top ten list for 2014. As it is now, i will have to settle with 500-1000$ watches.

It seems like the only Blacked Out Rolex models that I have seen are not specifically linked with ROLEX in any way. All of these seem to be done by aftermarket companies not affiliated with Rolex.

I've seen companies that offer you the ability to customize it based on your existing Rolex, or buy one of their customized models based on a pre-owned Rolex as the starting point. Don't know if any of these aftermarket companies start with new Rolex's or not?

Some of the companies offering these pieces (some in PVD and some in the much more durable DLC)...Black-Out Concept, Titan Black, Blaken Watches, Swiss Wrist, International Watch Works, and I'm sure many, many others. Most of these companies seem to offer this on not just Rolex, but other luxury brands, and I'm sure some of these companies would provide this custom coating on any watch...not just those with super-premium price tags. My 2cents...

I agree with you guys...that Rolex GMT stealth above needs a black date wheel to finish the look.

Thanks for the explanation Chris!

Im not against modding watches that are cheaper. But when it comes to luxury brands i personally feel it should be done at their factory, and be inline with their high standards and quality control. Here i thought that finally Rolex has made a watch that speaks my language. (Hope im using the right words and dont come off sounding as a snob or a A-hole).

Also had to edit and add this link. Maybe i will have to eat my words from above. Looks really sweet.

My list has expanded.

The new SEIKO Prospex SUN019 are on my list.
Definitely I must have one of these.

It occurs to me after rereading this thread that I don't PLAN watch purchases. I usually just get smitten with something and then find a way to buy it or miss out. Hmmmm PLANNING a purchase....it's a novel concept I should look into. :)
