Basel 2015 was as well with the re-birth of the well known Angelus under the hat of Arnold&Son and La Joux Perret.
What was announced was very surprising...

Now some more on this Tourbillon "travel clock" wrist watch.

I would say that it´s a bit deceiving: "Angelus" (the rest of it or simply the legal rights after the quartz crisis?) makes a sudden jump into the high-end "avant garde" segment and becomes unavailable for the common mortal´s wallet.

I would have expected something more Angelus, something more down to earth and affordable.

But that was really out of space278.gif

looks like angeuls has been "luxuriaised"

disappointing really, as I would have hoped for a new 8 day movement reflecting their past etc. This reads more as a marketing exercise in rebranding...

It is as you said a total rebranding.
It´s mostly based on the abundance of new millionaires: The growth of this new social layer has never been so high as those last years.
Well, there are big predictions about a new world financial crisis and I´m not speaking about some "doomsday" crystal ball crap: It´s coming from people deep into the economical world and it´s analysis.
Dig enough on the net and you will see dark clouds on the horizon.
So maybe China first and the rest after: Who knows.
What I mean is that this "new millionaires layer" might be wiped out, giving place to a survivor branche of even more fortunate wallets and on another side, an enormous spectrum of lower class than it was before.
Resuming as: Top luxury watch segment will make it through.
Middle luxury watch segment will suffer very very hard and low segment will suffer and still hold the ground.
This Angelus stunt is too late in business to dig deep enough any hole to hold it´s ground through a soon crisis: Only the long known strong value will survive as an "investment value".
Such as the top brands actually known: Patek and Co...
My opinion and mine only...
