There is nothing wrong with a Miyota movement ...I have beat the crap out of them and they keep good time ....The only part that sucks is the no hack , but thats no biggie..... I also thought the Deisels had a 70's look to them

Here's what worked for me on a stuborn crown on a Russian Amphibia. I was having trouble screwing it back in. So, I took my canned air (the kind you get at computer stores, etc.) and blasted the threads a few times. No more problems. Gone. I wouldn't recommend this for an expensive watch, but on the Russian it worked and I have had no trouble since.
