Here is a site in which you can see the cost of watch components AS AN INDIVIDUAL BUYER. While it does not show automatic and mechanical movements, it does indicate how cheap the cost of watch manufacturing really is when components are bought direct from the manufacturers in quantity.

Look at these prices from a retailer and then imagine what thos same prices would be to a manufacturer in a quantity of 1000 or more pieces !

Just think of how much Rolex is saving by making their own.
