I heard thru the grapvine that my four collie dogs are getting me a new humidor for Christmas. Those collies are so damn smart; they always know what I want and I've never had to return one of their gifts.

JR Cigar has a deal on a gorgeous humidor cabinet. All you have to do is buy a box of El Rey DEl Mundo cigars (many sizes and prices to pick from), and you can get the El Rey Del Mundo humidor (retail $500) for $99!

The collies say mine is on the way.

Check it out: http://www.jrcigar.com/index.cfm?page=deals_erdm_no6

Hey, great choice! I just hope the wood and finish are as nice as they look in the picture. Been looking for a better humidor for a long time, and I like the ones at Thompson Cigar, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I like the vertical configuration of the El Rey design, with the four drawers and the fold-down glass door. My current humidor is just a box with a lid, and I have some collectibles (die cast cars) which I place on top of the humidor, so every time I want a cigar I have to move the 55 Nomad first.

Let me know what you think of yours. Mine is scheduled for delivery on Dec 1, but I'll have to wrap it and put it under the tree before I can use it.

Jim

Yeah, I was thinking, if you don't have enough cigars to fill it up, put watches in some of the drawers!

I'll tell you, though, El Rey Del Mundo cigars are one of the best of the classic Cuban brands. Unfortunately, we don't get them. But, even though they're Dominican, they're supposed to be good.

My humidor arrived yesterday. Popped the box cover to peek. The finish is gorgeous - at least the wood grain is. Not totally fond of the high gloss finish, but not a biggie. It's also nice and BIG! So, didn't actually take it out of the box; just stuck it under the tree. I did, however, sneak one of the cigars for a sample today after work. Think it's going to be a vodka martini Friday!

Just looking at your previous reply about being "easy" when it comes to collecting things. What else do you "collect?" Or, perhaps, it might be best to say, what are your other passions?

That topic might also make an interesting thread here; always interesting to find out what the others are "into."
