Just had a weak moment on eBay last weekend...

Sappire, SS, Miyota 9015 powered with Date function.

Ok I hate to say it but I really like it. Both of the ones I bought needed bezel insert alignment but since they were not very well installed to begin with it was easy to find an edge that would lift up after a little work with a hair dryer and then a razor to separate the sticky tape from the insert is all it took to remove and reinstall correctly.

The lume is the usual recycled chinese road paint but overall fit and finish is really nice!

Both bracelets were oiled prior to any attempt to remove links and each link screw was oiled before being reinstalled so both of my bracelets have a full set of functional removable links.

I think $220.00 is a fair price for the 9015 powered homage it will make a great addition to daily rotation.

And it has lots of potential for mods since its 9015 powered it will easily accept a 2892 series movement and whatever dial and hands you want too.

The polished sides are where we "seperate the boys from the men" as my grandfather used to say, the tooling marks are still visible if you look closely though they are not visible to the naked eye it illustrates the lack of metal finishing skills available in china.

With a black leather nato installed... the way god intended it. thumbsup.gif

Congrats Chris...these homages have been pretty popular on FB lately...the Parnis,Corgeut and the generic dial versions offered by both on eBay for $139.w/Miyota 8215...would be interested in the one you have with the 9015...big bang for the buck.sponge bob.gif

I've been keeping an eye on those too, assuming the dial to stem offset is reflected in the crown placement in the cases it gives us lots more options with at least two different cases. The 8215 cases are also good for the older 2850 adn 2870 series eta's so a red number date  swiss diver is a really classy option for those!

It's also possible they are just stuffing the different movements into the same case since it's big enough for the long stems to take up the difference in offsets...

I got mine from parnistime on ebay:

With 25% off your second watch from parnistime it seemed like a decent deal...
