.... new camera! CANON 350D! But it is an used one. :( Cos of the last time that I was swindled of $800, I have to be contended with this used one.:?

So now I am going to get some accessories here and there and when I am ready, I'll take part regularly in 3T's POW!!! As this is a DSLR, I have no idea of how it works exactly, compared to my ex-camera which is a prosumer camera Panasonic FZ20.

So it will be some "sad weeks or months" for me as I reckon I will see prizes that will be won be others!!! :(:(:( LMAO!!! But when I get better, guys and gals, I'll give you all a RUN for your money!!! :P:P:P (hopefully I am able to!???)

Tom,

I am still reading the manual and have not taken any shots yet while waiting for my CF card to arrive.

Damn, there are some on the FZ20 that this complicated DSLR does not have like the LCD screen is not a viewfinder! :?:?:?:?:? In other words, you have to take EVERY pic with the eye viewfinder!!! Of course a lot more of extra features of this DSLR! :):):):) But I have yet to find out.

As the moment, I am only equipped with a camera with batteries, and 3 lenses with filters. Nothing else.:? I decided to take step by step before splashing on under utilized accessories.

I'LL BE BACK!!!

Jacky

Hey Jacky, that's the way I usually do it anyway!  I need reading glasses in my "old age" and I can't use the LCD screen without them on!  Plus, I think you can see your subject better and more clearly through the viewfinder.  The LCD screen is definitely more ergonomic, but maybe not quite as effective, IMHO.

The logo above was the "unofficial" Company "logo"  (and the name Bandido Charlie was the unofficial name) of Company, C, 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry (MECH), 1st US Army Infantry Division.  Bandido Charlie has recently received that name "Bandido Charlie" as its official name from the Dept of the Army and is currently serving in Irag.  Before it was moved to the 1st US Infantry Division (The Big Red One) in Vietnam, it was Company C, 1st Battalion, 60th Infantry, 9th US Army Divison, the company in which retitered GEN Tommy Franks served as an Artillery Forward Observer until he was severally wounded.

"MECH" = mechanized which means using armored personnel carriers to transport troops to the battlefield, but in the jungles of Vietnam, a lot of the operations reverted to "leg" infantry or, as it was known, "humpin' the jungle".

BTW, in the Army, "Armored" means "Tanker"!

Here's that Caravelle today, with the "new" strap I put on it in the late '60s or early '70s.
