you need to use an internet host like http://www.photobucket.com and the post the link within your message.  Then your link will show up.

Here are instructions by Jacky that he has posted on many forums:

____________________________________

For the benefits of those who does not know how to post pic or pics in this forum.

First and foremost, to post a pic or pics here in this forum, you need a web image hosting site. The most common that most of us use is Photobucket. You can sign up for a FREE acount at http://www.photobucket.com.

Here is what to do and how to post pics in this forum:

1. Sign up for a FREE account at http://www.photobucket.com .

2. Upload your pics(in either jpg, gif, png, bmp, tif, swf format, MOST COMMON is jpg or also know as JPEG) into your Photobucket's account. The size of any pic is preferred to be less than 250kbs. However, do not worry if you pics are bigger cos it will automatically resize for you!

3. After you have uploaded your pics, you can see them in big thumbnails in your photobucket accouts. There are 3 options under every pic: "Url", "Tag" or "Img"..

4. For this forum usage, click on the "Img" box, the whole box should be highlighted once you click on them.

5. Now with the "Img" box highlighted, place your cursor over the highlighted box and do a RIGHT CLICK and select "COPY".

6. Come back to the forum where you are imputting your text in message box, do a RIGHT CLICK again and now select "PASTE". The text should appear  [IMG]http: xxxxxx [IMG]

6a. REPEAT step 3 to 6 if you want to post multiple pics.

7. Click on the "Preview" button before submitting your message to see if you got the right image/images pasted or not.

There it is done! It might sound a little complicated but if you hands on it, it will be as EASY as ABC!!!

Hi Jim,

Here you go:

What I saw at your threadis that the link of the your GIF file is not correct.

Ok this is the actual text you must type in order to have the above gif file:

[Note the above **** should not exist, in other words, just type the above sentence, which is in bold, without the ****.]

Photobucket does too much compression for an animated gif image. it either looks too crappy or it doesnt work at all.

a lot of people use Imageshack to upload their gifs to instead of Photobucket. Imageshack is also free. just google imageshack and it should be the first one that comes up :)

Well, now I see the animation IS working, so it must take awhile or something.

I'm baffled.
