Ken, we all know you are a strong willed individual, but I wonder what several $$billions increase in net worth would do to the attitudes of any of us. While I disagree with the appropriateness of the 767, I think I can understand how they got there....A former employer of mine and a (more or less former) personal friend became a billionaire and now owns 3 personal jets. ...I hear he's looking into a personal jet that can safely fly to France from LA where he lives....This same guy used to haggle for hours when buying cars, and then drove them for a minimum of 7 years...Big.Money is a very, very strange drug

Eddyboy...............please don't misunderstand me...........I have absolutley no problem with them owning anything they want and/or using up any amount of petroleum that they want. They have, without question, earned it. I applaud their ingenuity, business sense and success. What I do not applaud is the hypocracy of people of this status that preach one thing and then do another on the assumption that they are "special" and think that they are above the values they preach. Bottom line...............I am not an eco-nut............I have 2 gas-guzzling SUV's and a huge house in the desert with big AC usage. I enjoy other people's success! Hmmmmmmmmmm! Wonder what kind of watches they wear? :D :D :D Eddyboy wrote: KenC wrote:Because they are really strange people that run it.........................bellowing concern over the environment ........and then purchasing a Boeing 767 fuel guzzler for PERSONAL travel!

NASA has an Orbiter Approaching MARS today. That's why it looks like that. It is HUGE news in the Scientific world. "Unlike previous Mars missions, the Reconnaissance Orbiter is the most powerful spacecraft ever to arrive at Mars and is expected to send back more data about the Red Planet than ever before. After adjusting its orbit, the spacecraft will begin its two-year examination of the planet in low orbit in the fall. It is expected to monitor the Martian climate and atmosphere, search for signs of ancient water on the surface and locate possible future landing sites to send the next generation of robotic rovers and possibly human explorers. After that, it should serve as a communication relay between Earth and Mars until its primary mission ends in 2010. Project manager Jim Graf predicted that the scientific results of the mission will be extensive. "It will rewrite the science textbooks on Mars," Graf said." Naw, nuthin' like that....LOL. Didn't think it for a minute. I don't think you're an eco nut...just a regular nut...If anything, owning a personal 767 is just plain dumb if you don't use it a great great deal. Hypocrisy is as human as breathing. Done plenty myself... Mine was solely a commentary on the relativism which results from huge wealth....Things that the world views as excessive or dumb somehow become necessities and needs...
