Am trying to give a cross-section of what you might have seen/experienced if you'd been there. Yeah, you could be wading through that river with a million thoughts going through your mind but, then add just this to the picture: 81 °F / 27 °C Humidity: 89% Dew Point: 77 °F / 25 °C We can handle high temps., but when combined with those other stats . . . Those of you familiar with humidity know what these readings mean. And, the gnats, insects, snakes, etc.? For those of you never in Vietnam, I ask that you put yourself in the place of one of the men pictured. It's all happening to you. I hope to do this once or twice a week if it's okay with you. Nothing necessarily dramatic (I can't provide the sound effects, the thoughts, the reality), "just" a day, a moment in time--for them, for you.
