My Dad always said breakfast meals were good for any time of the day 24-7. LOL :D

Well I always agreed with him. Love breakfast meals. :)

For my late lunch today have some fried eggs, bacon and potato bread toast with some OJ. ;)

Damn! That looks good. I've been keeping myself to 2 hard boiled eggs, oatmeal w/brown sugar, some fruit(cantoloupe, honeydew, kiwi, watermelon...just some of whatever the selection is that day) and around 8ozs of grapefruit juice for breakfast. And all small portions too. Damnit Skip, now I'm hungry again:).

I just hope the chow hall food is better than most of the navy ones I ate in. But on the ship when deployed we had some fairly good grub on the mess decks though. ;)

Trying to decide what I want for lunch right now. Had oatmeal for breakfast. :)

The chowhalls are all pretty good here. If you don't watch it, you end up putting on weight. A recent study done by the Army shows that most soldiers put on an average of 15lbs while deployed. When the war first started it was completely opposite. I guess it doesn't hurt matters any that they're all run by civilian(KBR) and monitored by the military. You definately don't go hungry nowadays. Oh yeah, they have a midnite meal too.

When I was on the ship in port or deployed I almost always made Mid rats as we called it. I generally ate 4 times a day at sea. But with the job I did I worked a average of 16 hours sometimes longer and that was 7 days week till ya hit a port of call.

Oh skip now all the memories of being at sea are coming back nothing like 14-18 hrs a day 7 days a week, but then again there was nothing else to do out there.  Also out of the 4 meals a day breakfast was always the best and the meal on the small boys(ships) was alot better than the carrier.  Boy I miss it sometimes.

Yea most of the time the small ships do have the better food. The guys on Subs have it best.  But I was on the fleet flag ship. (CVN-65) They made a point to have better food with all the big wigs that would come aboard. ;)

I can't tell you how often I enjoyed steak and lobster in the Indian Ocean. Officers flying in Pizza Hut goodies and oh the list goes on.

When I was a E3 I did a 90 day TAD to the Chiefs Mess, man they often had it better than the Officers. :)

I remember going aboard the ship with my older brother (who also went in the navy) with dad on his last command. The Coral Sea. Dad was the Master Chief of Engineering. He got to eat real nice. We even had a chance once to dine with the CO and XO that was cool.

My older brother and I both only made it to E5. Still very cool having a dad that was a E9 :)
