Mike..........just got home, saw your post and am tryimg to be helpful.  I think the link I gave was Oscar's referring to the guy that is Oscar's source.  $400 is a great price from a reputable dealer.....no sense in waiting to save another $20 or so!

Thanks Ken, the link at Ebay that I had was from a friend of a dealer so did not actually know it as a "reputable" source although the feedback sounded good. Only hesitancy is my being unsure which is the best automatic(reliable) movement for my first jump away from the world of quartz.

tks again

I picked up mine pre-owned...so others will have to respond to your request!

Hi, bought mine on the Bay and I see the same seller is listing again at a higher price, he is open to offers and that is how I picked mine up after Ken recommended. It was my first 7750 and Ken's description was awe inspiring, I have been completely happy with the purchase. Current Bay listing is item 110119023674.

Hope that helps, it took me a couple of attempts to get the offer to be accepted, he does not want to give away. Also, I think I saw one on Watchuseek up for sale.

Cheers
Mike

Hi Ken,

Regarding the 9G-600, I've had mine for a year and I like it a lot. it keeps time to within about 5 seconds per day (it's a little fast, which is good because I know I'm not late for meetings).

I've noticed one thing that bothers me a little, and I wonder if it's normal:

If you look very closely at the numerals on the dial and sub-dials, you can see they are not solidly drawn-- there are very minor gaps and irregularities in the numbers- especially the smaller chronograph and second markers- these gaps appear somewhat arbitrary and un-intended-- as if the numerals were painted onto the dial in a somewhat haphazard manner.

When examining it from 12 inches away, it seems irrelevant and the dials look absolutely great, but when examining from 6 inches, and being critical, I can tell there are slight irregularities, and these gaps look like imperfections, and it makes me wonder if I'm the only one.

Can you see this same anomaly? Is it normal? Am I alone?

I have just examined mine, both with the naked eye and with a 2X magnifying glass and do not see the problem...perhaps the dial on yours had a bad "stamping".  If you bought ti new, I would suggest you contact your dealer or SA and let them know of the problem and your desire to have it corrected!

The sub-dials have concentric circular ridges-- I think these are causing what I perceive as irregularities. Does yours have the circular ridges?
