I want to know more. :cool: Right now, having a wad of cash is nice. I have looked at so many watches.... I'm now checking out the Glycine Incursore 200M 46mm Manual SAP Lux. I have found a great price, too. The Alpina is still on my mind, as well. I have looked at the Meistersinger (single hand) watches. Those, I have always thought, were cool. The Ball Night Train DLC is sweet. But, yes; the Dievas AGP looks pretty nice. The Unitas in the AGP has blued screws. Nice! The technology is neat. Very neat! Greg you are looking at some very fine watches. I've eyeballed them too as well as the Dievas. The Dievas are growing on me so I may snag one this Spring or Summer myself. Just not sure which one yet. ;)

i have one on order due for delivery early april. From the pictures and owner reviews! a few of them with genuine panerais), i reckon the fit n finish is great...and i like the sterile 2533 dial on the AGP. i feel the radiomir style is one of those love me or hate me type. If yer lookin for a vintage lookin watch with high tech case then maybe AGP fits the bill perfectly, but its never gonna be one where u can go diving nor racing with. hope i made sense. smile8.gifsmile8.gif btw if u want one better be quick...ive been advised, theres a back order of around 10 agps...and once the 50 is out its out! regards chris Last edited on Fri Mar 14th, 2008 03:46 pm by Dookie |

I had a PM from somebody who was interested in my AGP and what I thought about it. I just thought I'd copy it in, rather than write it all again. hi, saw your pics of your dievas AGP on bigwatchforum. Very nice indeed. I am lookin for a radiomir style watch n usually not particularly not drawn towards PVDed pieces. however, with the AGP it seems they r more resistant to daily wear with that dlc coating of theirs. After having it for a while, i wonder u still hold your initial favourable impression of them. Do they still hold up well?? i was told by gnomonwatch they will be expecting their next batch of 10 pieces soon. So i thought i might grab them pending comments from owners like yourself. :) thanks a lot for help Hi, Thanks for your note. Yep, I'm still very impressed with the AGP. I like watches that are not too fussy, but unique as well. This one is real quality---I think the others in Ander's vintage collection are quite nice too. I was originally sort of interested in the 2533---you know, the one with the same dial simply because it doesn't look like a Panerai at least in the dial. I've already got a Radiomir base and the other one looks a bit toooo much like it, just a bit larger. The only suggestions I could make to improve the AGP--the finish is fantastic--have you seen that youtube video?--- I would have had sapphire on the bottom crystal as well or even just a solid back. I really don't need to see another 6497, especially since there are more elaborate versions. As it is this one has I think acrylic on the back and that's a bit strange. I also would have made the water resistance a bit higher, mabe beefing up the seals around the crown, etc. so the watch seems like more of a workhorse. All in all though, I'm really happy with this one. Its a keeper---maybe I'll persuade Anders to make a solid back for it! Regards, Dan I'll also add at this stage that I think the fit, finish and design of the AGP is superb. The strap changes are actually easier than the Radiomir---maybe because you don't have that constant fear of slipping and scratching the beast. I still think a solid back on this one would be a welcome option and a maybe higher water resistance rating ?

Very nice Dan! the AGP is a unique piece indeed, the case finish n the 2533 sterile dial really is the major attributes of the watch. dun think it look as good in any other dial patterns. Nice one! hand6.gifhand6.gif

A separate screw-back option for the Vintage models would be great for existing owners to purchase and customise for "authenticity". Helps to get the watch a little bit lower. But I think you know this request already! Jon

My research indicates that the dial on the AGP is very likely based on Panerai's prototype "Radiomir"; i.e., the Model 2533 that Giuseppe Panerai designed in conjunction with Rolex back in 1935! Indeed, the degree to which Rolex influenced the 2533 - movement, crown, etc. - has caused true 'Paneristi' to refer to the 2533 as the "Rolex-Panerai!" THIS was the first timepiece to ever pass ALL of the Pre-WWII Italian Navy's rigorous test criteria ...
Of course, a year later, Giuseppe Panerai obtained a contract from Italy's "Marina Militare" for a design that incorporated his personally-designed, and more-luminous, modified dial. THIS model - the 3646 - is considered to be the first REAL all-Panerai "Radiomir!" ...
Which is why I HAD to have Anders' OUTSTANDING homage to this design! ...
This stuff's fun to research! ...  BTW, I love Love LOVE the AGP - and, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that its 6497 now sports 'Cotes de Geneve' engraving on the backplates! It would be a REAL shame to cover this up, so my vote is to keep the exhibition back! Heck, as soon as I can 'scrounge up' the money, I'm going to order one - as long as it STILL has the engraved movement visible through an exhibition caseback! And, then, perhaps I can use my own Zeugma Strap on BOTH of 'em ...
