Not a problem with the Gators.  We had a great season for a change.  I'll second that "Go Gators" for you.  I'm pulling for them in the Big One.

The movement in this watch is very cool.  I believe it does about 5 little ticks a second.  It almost looks like the second hand of a quartz watch on steroids.  Plus - I didn't know it was hand-windable until I got it out and read the documentation.

The dial on the watch is simply beautiful and easy to read.  The reason i've never owned this type of watch before is that they all have the general same look.  This one is different.  This slight use of red on the hands and in the "flieger" symbol at 12 o'clock really sets the dial apart.

It's so neat to have a 40 year old movement in a new watch.  Such a great idea.

Yeah, that movement is a more leisurely 18,000bps (much like the mechanical Unitas 6497/98) as opposed to the newer ETA rate of 28,800bps.

Most Japanese movement bps rates are in the 21,000 range.

I think I may get a unitas hand-winder next.  There are a lot of them out there and I won't buy one unless it calls my name as loudly as this Dievas did.

Speaking of the BPS of the ETA in the Dievas, I have 4 watches currently in an automatic winder.  One has the Valjoux 7750, One has the ETA 2428-2, another has the ETA 2836-2 COSC, and the other is whatever Seiko put in my Orange Monster.  It's the non-hacking model that beats at about 21,000BPS if I remember correctly.

After about 3 months on the winder, All of the ETA movements show pretty much the same time, though they are a couple of minutes slow.   The Seiko however, has lost about 7 minutes and is slowly falling behind.

I'm anxious to see how the Dievas Flieger does in comparison, but I doubt i'll take it off any time soon for that length of time.  My wife got me another great watch for Christmas so I'll be rotating between it  and the Flieger.

The Orange Monster uses the Seiko 7S26 movement...their "workhorse"...actually, if the Seiko has been on a winder for 3 months and has only lost 7minutes, that only about -5 seconds per day which is damn near COSC standards.

7 x 60 = 420 / 90 = 4.66667

Its great to see so many Flieger Timr owners out there and together on 3T. Really does make all the time we spent on the watch worthwhile.

The ETA2452 movement in the Flieger Timer is not meant to be an accurate movement like the modern movements. But like all things 60s, they are designed to be reliable workhorse.

Post more pictures guys! There are no lousy pictures.
