Will like to gather what everyone thinks.

We will be introducing a line of new watches. It can be either vintage or contemporary looking.

For example, do you prefer:

1) Vintage Rolex Submariner 5513
or
2) New Rolex Submariner 14060M

1) Vintage Blancpain Fifty Fathoms
or
2) New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms

1) Vintage Omega SM300
or
2) New Omega Seamaster Pro

1) Yellowish Wabi lume
or
2) New green lume

Some examples. You get the idea.

Best
Anders

Wabi (to me) is the total patina a working tool gathers during its life.

It can include everythign from dings, scratches & swirls to aging of lume (even flaking, but that is not nearly as universally loved).

On a strap, it can include staining, sandpapering, etc.

Some people actually aritificially age their watches & straps (just like furniture).

Question you must ask: are you doing a homage to a tool watch that has seen lots of life? or are you doing a homage to a safe queen?

The answer to that will tell you if you want "wabi" on your watch & strap or not.

Quesion:  take a new "homage" watch.  put it on a beat up strap and what do you have?  a shiny homage watch on a beat up strap.

to make the whole piece "harmonious"--age the strap (beat up is what I called it above) & then make the watch look old as well...  sandpaper, a few gouges, use vintage lume, whatever you like.

just my opinion of course...

Looks like everyone likes the vintage feel.

I personally am a fan of vintage watches as well.
From military watches to vintage divers to pilots.

I have a few babies in my collection that are vintage as well.

The acrylic crstal, the yellowish lume and the overall looks.
Simple yet useable if you know what i mean.

We will have 3 models coming up real soon. And its a tribute to the original watch.

I love them honestly, but not sure if everyone will share my passion for them.

And yes these will be mechanical movements this time round.

And Dookie: yes we got some movements in stock now. Some NOS some new movements. Still planning on what to do.

Pilots?
Divers?

What do you think?

hmm,
sounds like a decent idea...with the NOS movement....how much do one those them vintage style pilot.something that sets it apart from the other pilots out there. I actually like the oceantimer design very much. Any plans for an auto version?? that would prolly sell i reckon.  As for dive watches, it really depends how many movements u have managed to score., the options r endless. However i do feel everything has been done, theres always a watch that look like another. It be good to get the designer to draw up something n maybe work from there. Wat bout your tritium range, any plans to go that way but with higher grade auto movements?
