Hello all. I am a long time watch lover, but a newbie watch collector. I kind of collect watches by necessity. I was originally given a Bulova Millenia Titanium MarineStar about 8 years ago when I was still in high school. That watch was getting a bit banged up and for sentimental reasons I wanted to retire its function as a daily wearer. This led me to purchase a Tissot Seastar 1000 (blue) in early 2006, again this beautiful watch was getting a few tiny nicks and dings and I wanted to retire that watch as well. One month ago I purchased a Seiko SKX781 Orange Monster, its a great daily knockaround watch. Future watches include either an ORSA Monstrum or Beanarus Sea Devil, and a Marathon GSAR. My favorite types of watches are Automatics with preferably DAY+Date, non chrono, and very simplistic dials (I hate dials with too many numbers and markings on them, although the GSAR outweighs this by having such a cool case design). Favorite watches include: Marathon JSAR, Marathon GSAR, Tissot Seastar 1000, Kobold Tactical SEAL, SEIKO OM, Kobold Polar Surveyor (blue face, and yes its a chrono) Some of my other hobbies include: Jiu Jitsu (3 yrs), loudspeaker design and construction (ask me anything about this if you have troubles minus home theatre, strict 2 channel type of guy), weightlifting, saltwater reef keeping, mountain biking, and Nitro RC cars. I also have a girlfriend of 6 years and work in an engineering firm, I am a very busy guy. Nice to meet you all. Last edited on Thu Jan 8th, 2009 03:16 pm by |
