Hello,
I'm a Benarus newbie (having just discovered the brand in late November). I saw (and bought) a Case 1 Mil Diver on a whim, as I was looking for a Benrus-style military "beater" and saw one for sale. I knew nothing about the brand, but as it was my birthday I decided to take a shot for a few hundred bucks.

I received it and was immediately hooked-it quickly became my favorite watch. I started doing some research about the brand, and found that there was also a "Case 2" version (which even more closely resembled the Type II I have always liked). So, I started searching for one, and was able to grab one from someone here who shall remain nameless. :D

Anyway, when I received my Case 2 version, I noticed it was a lot more grey/matte than my Case 1. I know they both have a blasted finish, but the Case 2 was REALLY grey, whereas the Case 1 still was a bit shiny (almost with a subtle gold finish in the right light). Truth be told, I think I prefer the somewhat lighter finish, but I think I prefer the Case 2 style a bit more.

I asked around (including Steve) as to why there might be a difference in the finish. He suggested it could have been the grade of grit used during the blasting. My question to the fine folks here is, for those of you who have either style (or both), are your finishes consistent with mine? In other words, are your Case 1's lighter and 2's more flat/grey? Or does it just vary?

Here's a quick wrist shot-it's hard to tell in this pic, but maybe you can get the idea.

My other dilemma is, do I keep both? As I said, I think I like Case 2 better, but the Case 1 finish better. Is having both too "much"?

Thanks!
