The only time I did wear my Speedy on a rig was when I was there for a survey and only for taking pictures: I was back then working for an office in cooperation with engineering.
Now when I mount installations offshore, I wear a home-made "beater" with a 2824-2 ETA that can take the beating.
I don´t want to knock and scratch badly my Speedy since I´d like to hold it in good cosmetic shape over the years.
From experience over 10 years in the oil industry, I would work on an oil rig any day with a good ETA or Miyota powered watch to take the beating: No need for a 5000$+++ watch
