IMHO, Rolex, Panerai etc... is out of reach for the average WIS.
Boutiques just about dried up the gray market dealer, which kept the big watch houses in business. Expanding on this theory, if you are not a well heeled buyer, the boutiques likely won't be contacting you when a LE arrives. This has driven a wedge between the loyalists and manufacturers.
Micro brands offer WAY MORE bang for the buck.
To top all this off, the COVID virus will certainly make people think twice about what's important in their lives and a $??,??? watch certainly is off that list.
