I wonder...
Marc, can you get that black/red diver???

That would be the perfect Christmas present, especially since my wife nixed the yellow Orient Star 300m...her quote: "HOW MUCH for a WATCH???" Needless to say I ain't gonna win that one, but the black/red is much more reasonably priced (37,500 yen), actually cheaper than last year's present, my SAR-D :D

Cheers,
Griff

Those Orient Star watches I can actually get; they are part of the Retro, Camera and one other series that escapes my mind at this moment. The red/black diver is new to me. Never seen it before, but they make so many darn watches, I'm not surprised!

Of course. Actually, it appears that the marketing directorof Puritime was in an accident, so communication has not been that great lately. I wish him a speedy recovery. . . but I need watches!!!!!

I agree Oscar... this would be an issue for me as well.  Is the non-hacking true of all Orients?

Hmmm, 39mm bezel diameter and other proportions are kind of small in todays standards. Too small for my chunky kind of tastes. Too bad, it's a good looking watch. :(

Thanks for the info Kew. I like the watch but $220.00 for a watch that doesn't hack or wind is too expensive IMO.

I am running in the opposite direction lately, my Zeno Explorer at 35mm doesn't seem too small on my 7.5" wrist, my favorite size is 38-40mm.

I want one, who has them?!!!!?

Cheers,
Griff

Hi,

Got mine from http://www.higuchi-inc.com

I paid US$246-00 shipped back in June 2007.

I am pretty sure they are only available out of Japan.  :)

I think the price you have been quoted is reasonable especially with shipping.

You could also try http://www.seiyajapan.com/

http://www.watches88.com has the identical diver for US$1250-00 although it is an Orient (not an Orient Star).  Here is the link;

http://www.watches88.com/pd_orient_automatic_professional_diver_300m_power_reserve_cfd04001b.cfm

I think IslandWatch can probably get one of those in
