Anyone has tried/uses those fiberglass scratch removal pens for brushed watches/bracelets? Which brand and with what results? How are they used?

Ral, I have one on order that should be in this week. I will let you know how it is when i receive it. hand6.gif I took mine from Boston Watch exchange. If no good I will try the Bergeon one. I heard they work very well, we'll see!

I have one. It's great for small areas but I find it too small to get a uniform finish on larger areas. I've had much greater success with sanding sponges.

as the Capt says you will get better results from scotchbrite pads but I have been using the PSC brushed/satin finish polish for the past year with great success...it is a gritty polish and a small can will last forever ....matter of fact all their products are highly reccomended like Crystal Clear for polishing and restoring acrylic watch crystals hand6.gif http://www.jewelrypolish.com/

I just received my refinishing pen and just tried it on. I'm amazed!!! It works very well. I used it to refinish the side of 48mm case that had small scratches. It's now like new. I find the pen easy to use and had no problem leaving a perfect finish on the whole side of the watch. No more scratches :D I will post pictures later of before and after, you will see. The key is to be patient and not to push to hard on the pen I think. IMO, the biggest advantage of this method, is that it's like a pen and it's easy to hold in your hand and allow you more control to do bezels and close to pushers or crowns. Also, because it uses fiberglass, you have to be careful with the small particles left while brushing. When the fibers brakes, they leaves little hairs that can go in your skin, I know, I got one on the side of my hand and it was not fun! Anyway, I'm really happy to find something to fix all the little scratches that bugs me. If you buy one, I would recommend to take a few refills as well. Anyway, I'm very satisfied with it and I hilly recommend it. Mine cost me $17 shipped with one refill. I have used pads before but find it way more difficult to get in small areas or around bezels and pushers, that's where I think the pen is the best. hand6.gifhand6.gif Works for me!

You won't regret it Ral. Sorry I didn't take the time to post pictures yet but I have done most of my watches this week with amazing results. hand6.gifhand6.gif It's a great find for me. Have you seen that they have some for beadblasted or TI finish? I have to see what it is...
