Wish I could help you, Teddy.  I was a 3+ pack-a-day smoker (Marlboro) for 28 years until I was finally able to quit in 1993.  Haven't dared take a puff since then.  I'm sure if I lit up a cigar I'd be smoking them like cigarettes within 24 hours!  Kinda like being an alcoholic.

Enjoy them.  I would if I could.

I can relate to Tom. I quit smoking in September of 1991. So I don't dare risk it. But enjoy. My late grandfather on mom's side was a pipe smoker. Use to so love the smell of their house when I was a kid. ;)

Ah, yes.  My maternal grandpa was a pipe smoker and paternal was a cigar smoker.  Both my parents smoked Camel unfiltered.  My mom, who turns 88 this month, now has emphysema and uses an oxygen tube 24/7.

Steve and Tony I swear after I started this thread me and the family took off to the mall, where I visited a estab cigar shop and I am not kidding you I picked up to 2 cigars.  Ya I got the Rocky Patel Sun Grown and Perdomo Habano, It's torpedo end and at the bottom of the cigar, it has a label that goes around and says corojo, man it's going to take an half hour to smoke that thing.  The Patel is a small cigar compared to the Perdomo.

Steve I will try the Padron & Julieta next.  My neighbor down the street from me kicked me CAO.  It was a dark cigar and man, it did not set to well with me.  after smoking that thing I felt sick.....:X

Alright thanks guys....yourock.gif

snoopy1.gifTeddy, those are the best ones...really. Some of the best cigars I've smoked had me wishing I had a roach clip to smoke it while I got dizzier and dizzier:P Seriously, make sure you tackle some of the full bodies after a good meal......you will love them:D

Oh Yeah,  I forget what I was smoking but years back I smoked a full bodied cigar.  It was in the afternoon before supper on an empty stomach.  I remember lying on the floor and the room spinning. coyote2.gif Felt like I was drunk.  I learned to never smoke on an empty stomach again.
Wifey got me an assortment of Macanudo's and some Roeo y Julieta.  Smoked one of the Macs so far.. it was nice and  smooth.  It was the Hampton Court.

Arturo Fuente - Awesome standard smokes. I keep a good stock of Rothchildes and Hemingways. If you have the time to enjoy a medium-full bodied smoke, try their Opus X line. Outstanding.

Ashton makes a very nice Vrgin Sun Grown line. Can be strong, so again you need to have the time to enjoy it.

Have never smoked Nester or Graycliff although I have some Graycliff Black Label Espresso and Blue Label Profesionale bedding down in my humidor right now.

Gurkhas, had a few, left no real impression on me.

Perdomos, as stated, the Habanos are excellent smokes! If you like a milder smoke, try the Reserve Champagne or their Golf cigar.

RJ, the Viejos, are great. Again, they are full-bodied and are not a cigar to be squeezed in between things, they must be the focus of the time you spend smoking them.

AND my fav, Rocky Patel. All are worth trying, if you like a med to full smoke, try the Vintage line, especially the 1990. Outstanding!!! I always have a good stock of those sticks. And the Fusion line, especially the MM. Double Maduro wrappers...Mmmmm.

If you want a little adventure, and you are willing to try infused sticks, try Drew Estate Naturals or their Acid line, especially the Kuba Kuba. Quite popular with new younger smokers. I balked at these cigars at first, but they are not bad. They are not as consistent as the bigger houses like AF or RP, but I do like the Dirt, Dirt Torpedo, the Root and of course, the Acid Kuba Kuba. They are a nice break once in a while.

Padrons are also excellent. I liked the 1926 series. Also the CAO VR, excellent maduro smoke! If you enjoyed the 5 Vegas Series A, then you'll be fine with any of the above fuller smokes.

Happy Smoking!

Two of my favorites are R&J Havana Reserve and the Montecristo Afrique.
