Don't know how many of you watched the Invicta presentations this weekend on SLOPNBC, but they had a bunch of them.

Now I own several Invictas, but haven't bought any for about a year or so. Generally, I like their watches and haven't had any bad experiences with quality or customer service. I am, however, growing weary of Eyal's unctuous, shameless exhortions to buy his watches. Damn guy talks so fast he stumbles over his own tongue. And although Ol' Jim is basically a decent sort, he is getting a bit full of himself, of late.

Anyway, during the 10:00 AM presentation with Eyal and some chick, they threw out a nice littel quartz multi-function, calendar/moonphase watch, in a variety of colors and nice features. The regular price was $140, but when they dropped the price, Eyal just about crapped when they dropped it all the way to $59.98. I mean, the look on his face was unforgettable; looked like someone had just stolen his football and run off with it. He was visably pisssed, and kept this up the rest of the day, thru all the subsesquent presentations.

The watch was nothing special for $140, and for $100, they would have sold a bunch of them. But, when the price went to $59.98, I fugured I might as well get one (navy).

During the 11:00 PM presentation, he said this was the absolute last time anyone would see this watch because they could never bring it back for more then the $60. And he also alluded to dire consequences if it ever happened again.

Anyway, even as cynical as I am, I believe Eyal WAS really the victim of a SLOPNBC screwup, and it was nice to see him squirm.

Oh yeah, I also bought the new Abyss Diver they had at $149.

Anyone else see this?

Jim

I saw it and thought  it was kinda funny. Not a bad looking watch for $59:D. The new Abyss is very nice and I like the colors on the newer version better than the old one. Great pic ups Jim. I was going to get something but I'm holding out for the next SWI shows when they bring in Omega and Oris along with other high end stuff.....Those VP's sure are nice.

I feel for Jim when he has the opportunity to present quality Swiss timepieces like Baume & Mercier and Concord and then has to revert to Hawking garbage. I cannot watch The Invicta shows without getting nauseas. Can I please have another $99 OTV  master calender with Swiss parts movement manufactured in their Swiss factory in Gaum. Oh yeah, don't forget to add a soccer ball and football to your order.

All this from a guy who wants to be taken seriously as a producer of fine swiss timepieces. You cannot have it both ways, you either take the company in the direction of producing quality mid to high level products or you continue with offering OTV bozo the clown watches.  Also, don't get to angry with the man or you will be back selling your watches out of a briefcase.

Or Ology that is classic!!. When I saw your ealier post I did not know if that was real or doctured. Now we know!.  That is Invicta's at is best. "Attention to detail". I only watched about 20 minutes of the carnival show this weekend and had to change the channel or I was going to take a football an kick it into the TV!.

I shall refrain from making any comments about Eyal or his "very close friend", Corona Gorda..........but I did look at the watch.  JMHO, but it would seem to me that Target might sell something of that apparent quality in the $15 range!

BTW, what is a "genuine leather strap overlayed with vinyl"??? :D
