.....sooooo to clear the air I will on behalf of Anders and the Dievas Watch Co. let all of our 3T members and loyal Dievas fans know that the new Dievas Vortex is a Fricker/German made watch as posted by Anders in the original Vortex pre-order thread is made of only the very best components they offer under their very well known quality control system.Anders was involved  from drawings to actual product over many months offering his years of experience as a WIS and watchmaker along with his superior Customer Service to bring us this watch and I for one say TY Anders! thankyou.gif

...this case was also used by Kobold in the making of their SMG-1 and nothing was taken away from that when Anders decided to use it for the Dievas Vortex!...I Thank Anders for the foresight and having the connections in the watch world to be able to bring us such an awesome watch and at a price that is affordable for WIS everywhere...I for one can say the Vortex is all that and more when comparing it to watches in the same price range and when comparing it to a Kobold it is a steal imho...Congrats to Anders! and TY for the Vortex! perfect.gif

Thanks oscar for your kind explanation....

i am a very proud owner of vortex and other dievas, sorry for not yet introduced myself before (been only a silent reader of your forum)....

but eversince the vortex, i can not help myself to give comment smile8.gif

yup as you said, we are lucky to have anders here, so that we can own a nice watch with affordable price...party.gif

i am wondering what make a SMG-1 cost 8 times the vortex? (its 100 meter, without hev, without 'kodiak' strap) despite it has GMT function?

how kobold get justification?

Without beeing an expert in those watches, I would guess that Kobold sells you every one of it's trade-mark's letter for a grand...
Thanks watchmakers like Dievas who make watches worth every buks or morehand6.gif

Hey guys let's not get carried away. Because of our pricing, I received a lot of enquires/emails. I feel those are very fair questions.

The only reason the Vortex is priced so low is because Dievas works on a very low margin. Not just the Vortex but across the line. It is not that other watches are too expensive but we are selling it too cheap. Our accountant, Kelly, is not too impressed by my business plan. subtlelaugh.gif

Ideally, I would like to price the Dievas watches as competitive as possible, but I can assure you a price increase is inevitable, probably sooner than later. Also I don't know how other manufacturers are pricing their products, but I'm very sure they have a very viable strategy that works for them. I am no business expert and still have a lot to learn in this aspect. ;)

I hope everyone is happy with their new Vortex and there are more surprises coming.

Sincerely,
Dievas Watch Company

Well said, Andershand6.gif

Guys, I've dealt with Anders many times and I have several of his watches, all Dievas, and I am very happy with each and every one of them. He still owes me one more Black Diamond on special order but I know he'll deliver.....;). I will beam myself t his shop in Singapore next week and if that Vortex keeps talking to me, I'll take it down. Anders has also hinted "more surprises coming" so I guess we all have lots to look forward. For sure they will have the same DNA.

With Anders, what you see is what you get. A real guy and a true WIS.

I used to think 800 was insane for a watch- it still is really- but now I dont find it that way- but in comparrison I gotta say you did it right- too long companies have been jacking up prices to seem exclusive- what you did here will make a difference I trust

I believe this is the 3rd Fricker cased watch Anders has made...the Flieger Timer,Aqualuna and now the Vortex and I'm sure it will not be the last time Anders uses Fricker... lookin' forward to the next Dievas creation and possibly the next tactical under Anders sleeve...no pun intended!! yahoo.gif

Did you just say that the Aqualuna has a Fricker-made case?  Wow!  I can say confidently that its build quality is outstanding, but I did not know it was a Fricker diver.

This is info that would certainly be ...motivating... to a good number of potential buyers, I think.

Fricker made the Aqua Luna? No wonder. I'm not surprised at all. Impressive build quality on a hefty profile.yourock.gif

I would 2nd that...and only add that I would like to see more styling in the approach of the Flieger-Timer which is one of my favorite watches of all time.  I am kind of "over-supplied" with giant divers at the time and like the more moderate 40mm to 42mm sizes and, as former military (and a licensed pilot) like the retro pilot and military styles.  That said...the quality can't be beat!
