Here we go: My only quartz watch who get smoked just by changing the battery! I have this watch since maybe 3 years: Bought it new so it was it's first battery change... I guess that it has been sleeping a while in the shop before I bought it because I had a very rare and special price. The watch been working flawlessly the last 3 years. Took it to my watch-maker today: He openend it and changed the battery in front of me. Then it didn't want to set up as it should: The central second hand stop and reset at 59 seconds or 1 minute before 12 if you prefer and the half hour marker reset the same way: Just before the 30 markers. My watch-maker said that it can happen: He tried to reset it by manipulating the crown and the pushers but nothing works. He poped the battery another time but nothing... It's an electronic gear trouble apparently...??? He could demount it but the work-hours would be much more costy than the movement itself: A Ronda 5540B. He been observing the same trouble on another chrono quartz once and even it's rare, it's a thing who apparently can show up... F'cking quartz! Allready I wasn't any quartz guy but now I'm so done with this electric bullsh'tmad.gif Here's the watch before:  And a quick shot after the battery change: Note the central second hand and the left half-hour count-down... Both hands reset wrong on the left.  Morality: My next tricompax will be a Zenith Primero

Your watchmaker doesn't know how to recalibrate a Ronda movement. If you pull the crown out to the third position, then hold both pushers in for a couple of seconds, the central second hand will make one revolution around the dial. Then it is ready to be recalibrated. Use the top pusher to set the central second hand. A short push will move the hand one increment. A long push will rotate the hand rapidly around the dial. When the central second hand is set, if there are more registers to recalibrate, press the lower pusher once. You can then use the top pusher to reset the 1/10th of a second counter. Press the lower pusher once more and you can use the top pusher to reset the minute counter. When all counters are properly set, push the crown in to the normal position and you should be fine. NightHawk, you are the man! It's all good now: Thanks a bunch The thing is that my watch-maker first asked me about the notice book: I didn't have it... He tried a similar trick but he certainly didn't do it properly: Seems like he's more familiar with the ETA mvts. Well, I'm glad that it's fixed now: I've learned something today and will update my watch-maker

I'm glad that it's fixed: I love this chrono...Very clean look. Funny enough, my watch-maker went to Maurice-Lacroix manufacture many years ago and learned the trick but he's getting old and had forgot it. He's more into mechanical watches and work more on ETA quartz that Ronda. I had never heard of this before: Well, it's my only quartz alive and the only chronometer of this type I ever owned. Switched the Glycine for it tonight in fact! Thanks guys
