Hi everyone, I recently received my Vortex Pro from Anders and have been enjoying it. That being said, no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to be able to remove the screw bars. I've tried the dual screw driver method to no avail... Can any one offer me some tips? I would really appreciate. Please let me know! Cheers. |

have you done this before?...I don't think it's the screw drivers... you have to turn the screw drivers in different directions(like wringing out a wet rag) sometimes to get the screw loose from the tube...you may have been tightening instead of loosening... |

Try heating up the screw heads before unscrewing. It has a little locktite on the screws, that´s probably why u can´t get them loose. The heat will soften up the locktite. Could try a lighter, but be careful, and at own risk  If you haven´t done this a lot, I would recommend taking it to your local watchmaker, and they can loosen it for u. |

Hehe, good clear up skipdawg. The lighter wasn´t that good of an idea acctualy. Have used it myselfe (not on pvd that is) with good effect (we`re talking a sec of heat here) But MUCH safer using the "tools" u mention. |

Hair dryer trick worked like charm! Thanks again for all the inputs! That being said.... I feel that this is going to lead to the purchase of several new straps for my Vortex....  |

I'm certain here most know this, but should anyone read who doesn't, and has screw loosening problems, There are many different strengths of Loctite. The only one that should ever be used on small screws is Loctite - Threadlocker 222 Low Strength Purple. |

As I understand, no Loctite used for the one I got. Finally got proper screwdrivers from A&F and now I can change the strap quite easily. Only flipside, while learning, scratched the watch a bit. Well, I guess I customised my watch  |

To remove Loctite, you can also try your wife's/girlfriend's nailpolish remover....just a few drops on the screw head. My daughter has an endless supply and it works really well. |
