Here's mine in it's fresh bronze state. You know me though...I probably won't be able to last the entire holiday weekend without tinkering with the patina.

Props to Steve and Ralf for a spectacular piece!!!happy guy.gif

Here's mine! I'll most likely let it patina naturally. It should be interesting to see how much this will have changed compared to when my recalled blue Bronzmo returns. The new buckle and raised pip on the bezel are outstanding. Another exceptional offering from Steve and Ralf.

Thank You 92degrees! thankyou.gif

I used the liver of sulfur gel as I've heard that the egg treatment doesn't work so well on the CuSn8 Bronze.

It's definitely a bit of an arts & crafts experiment...I brushed mine back to the fresh metal more than a few times only to start over again (the end result seems to depend quite a bit on the solution concentration, solution temperature, and exposure time which for me was a matter of seconds). Solution temperatures should be in the 130-140°F area and your exposure times will be really short at that temperature...(10 seconds or less in my case...if you go too long, you will know it...tones go to purple/black IMO). If you don't get the solution temperatures hot, the patina will not be long lasting or durable at all, as you won't get good bonding with the metal IMO.

I will definitely say that this true CuSn8 is absolutely gorgeous and the patina develops quite quickly on its own...I live in a very dry climate so I went for the kick start.

Hope that helps!

Wow, those look incredible!
The patina looks much nicer with 'real' bronze.
It looks beautiful!
Enjoy those guys.

Big help. Thanks! The egg treatment did nothing for me. I've been nervous about trying the sulfer gel but may seek some out. Saltwater actually worked pretty well...

That's kind. I guess you have to be careful around saltwater.

don't laugh...Herr Scart is probably correct...you may want to give the watch a good soap and water bath...use a soft toothbrush around the underside of the bezel, and rinse it thoroughly.ThumbsUp02.gif

How about this strap? It was an orphan Greg Stevens "Stone" that I got for a Lum-Tec titanium but it just never gelled. I've had it sitting around and decided to give it a try on the BMo on a whim. I was surprised to find the bronze watch brought out a copper hue in the strap.

Someone needs to do one of those take-a-picture-of-something-every-day-for-ten-years deals with a BroMo.

I am sure it is a black dial, but it looks like an awfully pretty blue there. I would like that very much!

After 2 months of natural aging, my Moray had taken on a nice golden copper tone. Then today I received the LoS I ordered to patina my bronze A1. I was so impressed with myself, I decided to give the Moray a dip.

It turned out gorgeous! Two things affected the outcome. By the time I put the Moray in the solution, it had cooled down, so the patina took longer to develop giving me plenty of time to gauge the progress. I also think the two months of natural patina had protected the surface some, so that the darkening that took place was nice and even. Not the blotchy look that some clean bronzes take on (see my A1 in the Armida forum). It also didn't fill in the bezel numbers like I had hoped, but that again probably had to do with the temperature of the solution being cool by the time I submerged the watch. I polished it lightly with a low grit cloth to brighten up the edges.

BronzeMo on GSD "Coffee" with antique thread. Oddly enough, Gregs Coffee is virtually identical in color to the included Benarus strap, but the texture is much more "rich". Unfortunately my crappy iPhone pic doesn't do enough to capture it.
