Dear 3Ters,

I would be grateful for any spare thoughts or prayers out of your busy lives today for my 5-year old nephew, Oskar, who is going for his third brain surgery tomorrow in as many weeks.

He has a brain abscess the size of a golf ball, which the doctors have tried to drain but have now decided needs to be surgically removed.

You do not even need to write back in support if you are too busy; all that I ask is that you take a moment to mentally wish the little fellah good luck.

Many thanks and apologies for going "off piste" (mods, I hope posting here is not too disruptive).

Dim

Absolutely Dim!

My thoughts and prayers go out for your 5-year old nephew Oskar today.

May his surgery go smoothly and accomplish everything that it is intended to fix.  Here's to a speedy recovery too!!!

God Bless!

Dear All,

Many thanks for your wishes and prayers - they appear to have worked!

Oskar had his 4-hour surgery yesterday and the abscess was entirely (and it looks successfully) removed.  Oskar was talking after the operation, which is clearly a very good sign.

He'll be in the ICU for some time but hopefully he can now focus on recovery, rehabilitation and a bright and happy future

Below is a link to a story on the surgeon who operated on Oskar - a man at the very top of his profession, to say the least!

Thank you all once again for your wonderful messages.

Best.
