I've been waiting to make this announcement for some time. I know I'm not around much anymore, but the simple truth is I haven't been spending much time on the forums. Life in general has kept me on my toes for the last year or so, but last summer I decided it was time for a change in my life. The change I decided to make was to go to school. I enrolled in the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (OSUIT) in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and gained acceptance into one of their industry supported programs. I'm near completion of my first semester as a student, finishing most of my general education requirement and as of right now, I'm on track to finish my semester with at least a 3.0 GPA. In January I start my program, which is the Rolex sponsored Watchmaking/Microtechnology program. In two years time, upon graduation I will be a SAWTA and CW21 certified Watchmaker. How's that for pursuing a passion?

Great news! It's so much easier when the thing you learn is based on a passion. Follow your dream and good luck to you Murphy!

Will, Tony... Thank you both. This is something I've been talking about for years, but just hadn't taken that first step on the journey. I'm very much looking forward to the challenges ahead. Happy Thanksgiving to you too Tony. Last edited on Tue Nov 26th, 2013 04:24 pm by murphy j |
