We always take a fam vacation to western Ontario every year and I always look forward to world class fishing and diving ... but real fun happens at night,  at the fire pit,  because Canadians brew great beers and I have access to real Cubans....now these taste supurb but I always wonder if it is the ambience or is a Cuban smoke  that much better than a Dominican ......I always liked Padrons or Punch or Macanudos but a real Cuban seems so smooth.....Or is it just the forbidden ...the mistique that makes it better ????????

CJ,

I think its just the "Forbidden" I'm a fan of Honduran and rarely smoke anything but Maduro wrappers.

Padron, Punch, and Macanudo are not Dominicans.

Padron is made in Nicaragua.

Punch is Honduran

Macanudos are made in Jamaica (most of them, at least).

I still think you should smoke the Cubans ;)

I WAS LOOKING FOR OPINIONS ON WHICH CIGAR AN EXPERT WOULD SAY IS BETTER....... THE PADRON , PUNCH AND MACANUDOS ARE THE BRANDS I PREFER,  CONSIDERING PRICE AND MY LIMITED CHOICES IN THE GREEN BAY AREA.....BUT THANK YOU  (FOR YOUR INFO IS MORE THAN MY SUPPLIER COULD GIVE ME) ALL MY GUY SAYS IS TRY THESE " they are supposed to be good"

I used to have a guy who steered me towards some pretty good cigars when I lived in New Jersey.

Now that I have moved away, the local cigar merchants are pretty clueless when it comes to recommending anything.

If your guy is making good recommendations, you are ahead of the game.

Enjoy your trip!
