My wife told me that she had no idea what watch to buy for me and had decided against buying me one for Christmas:(

The last present under the tree this morning was a long, thin, narrow box perfect for a tie.  I opened the paper and there was a Dillards box (oh great their ties are hideous typically).:shock:

boy10.gif Inside was lots of tissue paper:?

I couldn't figure out what was going on until the note fell out of the paper.....subtlelaugh.gif

The note said...."I'm not a tie!  Sorry, but I'm on back-order and all you get is this for now."

On the back was a picture.......

Seems it is set to arrive around New Years!smile8.gif

Thanks guys. :D I get to enjoy the anticipation of it being delivered around the 1st too!  Not sure I'm up to the actual watchmaking part of using the desk but I guess I'll need to start looking at tools and perhaps an old pocket watch or two as starters......

Oscar,

The way I see it, if everyone who gets their first bench is a Senior Technician....well, Invicta will have this QA problem licked soon!coyote2.gif

I have no vested interest in your quarrel with Invicta, but I am certain you were looking at grey market pieces sold by kiosk gypsies...

Wait a second... my persona was just taken over by the ULTIMATE INVICTA DEFENDER!!

Sound familiar??

O, as far as the Gang of 5 goes...you have got to kick it up to Gang of Ten or so... Ken almost indoctrinated me a week ago.

Invicta = Crapshoot.

The New Watch Bench is here!  The New Watch Bench is here! boy10.gif

Haven't had time to open it yet (106 lbs marked on the box - which UPS left in the driveway!:X).  Looks like a weekend project - now, where to put it?
