I received my BTP (#50), about a month ago. It is my second d.freemont (Semi-Skeleton #236). The BTP is so clean, so fresh. Even something as simple as the appearance of the second hand as it rotates in the dark...wowza. Your pictures are amazing and I'd think David would be very interested in them, as the quality exceeds that of the pics on the d. freemont site!! |

You'll find 3T is home to some great watch photography. I've learned from the gurus here... The BTP is a beauty indeed. Congrats on getting what I assume is the last one. You are right... the d.freemont site doesn't make the watches look over appealing. In fact its a bit of an injustice to such beautiful watches. Let's see your BTP!! Agreed re. the pictures, but I would note that, if he is able to save some advertising money on pics and sell me a limited edition, hand assembled Swiss watch, with an ETA 2804, blued screws, cotes de geneve, sapphire crystals, exhibition caseback, and such great fit and finish for $600, I will accept the lack of website picture clarity!! Take a look through, for example, the 2007 Wristwatch Annual. I defy you to find any other manufacturer who is able (or willing) to offer what d.freemont does, for the prices he does. Simply compare the specs. In this particular locale, I suspect that I am preaching to the choir to a large extent. p.s. I requested #50, but he did say that he has a few more tucked away. |

Hi, Paxman Great d.freemont pix! Definitely allows one to view this beautiful watch in more detail than the d.freemont site. I've been a fan of David's watches for almost eight years now: have two myself - Miami 33010 chronograph w/rose dial, and a just-acquired Mt. Palomar chronometer. I have one question, however. Because of the great detail in the photos, I noticed what appears to be some sort of debris right next to the df (7) and 5 o'clock numerals. At first, I thought that it might be the picture, but then saw that it shows up on every shot. Almost looks like a little excess glue that's sticking out from underneath the raised numerals. It would be a big deal to me as I am very picky about my watches being in perfect running and "looking" order when they are new. Please dispel my fears (I was looking into getting a BTP, as well) and tell me that the stuff I'm seeing is not there. Anyone else who has the same watch, your comments would be appreciated, too. Thanks again. |

Sorry, Paxman. Now I feel bad. Didn't mean to spoil your enjoyment of such an otherwise beautiful watch. As I said, I am very - sometimes I can't even stand myself - picky when it comes to a new watch. In fact, just earlier this week I received a "Mt. Palomar" COSC-certified chronometer. I love the look and quality of construction. But, there were a couple of minute (to someone else, even non-existant) flaws: a tiny speck of debris resting on the rotor, and a small smudge in the bezel's mirror polish right next to the crystal. Like I said, I almost blew it off. Was so excited about the watch that I didn't want to send it back. But, I found always thinking about and looking at those things, so I called David and Barbara. Needless to say, they were wonderful. They apologized for any inconvenience and said they'd ship a replacement watch right away (David inspected the new one before shipping to ensure that it would be flawless). Talk about CS! Sending a replacement before receiving the original product back does not happen that often in today's world. I'll definitely buy from them again! Try and see if you can have it replaced. If it's too late for that, I can pretty much guarantee that David would be willing to perform the required clean-up of the dial. Thank you for replying. Rouslan |

No worries... you haven't spoiled my enjoyment of the watch one iota. I had never noticed the gloop before and most likely won't again. If it does begin to bug me I may look at having it taken care of but as I sit today, I don't see it as being "required". Wonder if the d. freemont site will remove the link to my pix?? |

Glad to hear you're OK with it. You're a bigger man than I. I doubt they'll remove the link. Plus, I think that David would want to know of things like that: possibly, QC should be looked into, especially since these are quite limited editions. Would you not agree?hand6.gif |
