Public Service Announcement:
This humble kitchen will stay closed until Sunday.

Today, well, today we had a fix of Mickey D's, which led me to an idea:

I hereby send you, fellow contributors and silent readers of ze Test kitchen, on the

Photo Quest for the worldwide wonders of Fast Food!

I am interested in the eating habits from around the world and since "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle", I realized that my country is a bit left behind in the woods concerning fast food and stuff. Common are McD, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Subway and occasional KFCs. Most of the fast food portions are bought at Döner Kebab and Gyros joints, freelance take away pizzerias and the classical "Pommesbuden", small take away restaurants where you can get the famous "Bratwurst" and "Currywurst".

So, I would like to see some home made photos of the Big Macs, Whoppers, Poutine, Philly Ceese Steak, Fish'n' Chips, Curries, Currywürste, Frankfurters, Pizzas and other fast or take away stuff or convenience food around your corner in the happy fun world of Fast Food!

It would be kind of you to add a little description and the price of the food you pictured and maybe a size comparison so we can imagine who gets the best Bang For the Buck around here. The aesthetics of the pictured foods are only secondary, the real life is more interesting than advertisement shots.

I might start:

Our guilty pleasure for tonight were a collection of Burgers from McDonalds. Since this chain is known around the world, I will spare you with the details. It is by far the biggest chain over here, with several outlets in every major city.

We had the following (Size comparison object is a Nintendo DS game cartridge):

two Cheeseburgers:

one "Hamburger Royal TS" (TS is for tomato and salad):

Random movie reference:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLtwFugudZE

one Big Mac:

and a Fish Mac (fillet o'fish):

Total cost of these and a helping of barbecue sauce was 10.52 Euros.

"Enjoy your Meal!"(correct American term?) from Bonn.

I am looking forward to your contributions, and of course some of your "proper" recipes and preparations!

Edit: I put the pics in a folder called "sh ittyfood", is there some kind of swear filter in here?

Here is a quick snack for me later today. They were on sale at the store so grabbed 4 to try them out. Not bad for something to microwave real quick. :D

I'm not seeing your pics and yes, for fuck's sake... there is a filter fucking with your post and your shitty pictures!!

I am sorry to admit to this but I just returned from one of my son's pals birthday party (another rollerskating party) and slopped Taco Bell down my gullet. The party was from 5:30 till 7:00 which I consider the dinner "hour", but the only food was cupcakes for the kids (NO B-DAY CAKE!!) and candy. I had to eat so on the way home we grabbed Taco Bell. He had two bean burritos no onions and I had something called the Seven Layer Crunch whatever. No meat just a seven layer dip in a grilled tortilla. Had I though I would have taken a snap because my dish was pretty damn weird.

No worries... I be done with this before bed... you know what I mean.

Should be some grilling going on the holiday weekend which I have extended to four days...

Oh the shame!!

Did my own BBQ. Wasn't fast, wasn't this Thursday. But it was a Thursday.
cranberry relish, roasted garlic, BBQ turkey. Turned out better than I've ever had before.I stuffed it with Granny Smiths and Sausage for flavor and let time and smoke do the rest at under 200 degrees.
