The rotor on my monstrum is pretty noisy compared to my other autos. Has anyone else found this?

It is miyota based, so if you are comparing to an ETA, it will be. If you have another miyota based watch compare it to that first.

Yes, mine too is very noisy when I type or move my hand. We were at a play, it was very quiet during one scene, and my wife actually heard it when I was moving my arm around. This was a bad thing, because she said   "I have never heard or seen that watch before"

OOOPS! I got busted

I find that the rotor continues to make noise even after you stop moving your arm - I must admit this is my only watch that does this (the noise after you've stopped moving) but it seems to keep good time so I'll live with it.

Seems like they all do it!   It's the only slight downside on them - mine sounds like I've got the cast of Riverdance on my arm sometimes!

All my Miyotas have some rotor spin noise....mistake.gif

I have some Val.7750's that are noisier than the Monstrum which is running at +/- 11 secs. right now and that is Awesome imo hand6.gif

Mine may or may not be noisy....I'm too hard of hearing to tell, but if the neighbors call to complain, I'll let you know!!!subtlelaugh.gif

Maybe if all Monstrum owners shake their watches at the same time, the rotor wobble will be loud enough for Ken to hear.  It will be the 3T salute.  *rattle rattle*

My Monstrum is keeping great time, less than +10s a day.  I couldn't ask for better performance.

Why is everyone accepting this rattle? I have never had a Miyota based watch have a rattle like described. Maybe they were supposed to and mine didn't explaining why they were the worst timekeeping watches I ever owned.

I haven't heard anyone say their watch actually rattles...only that it is noisy, and if it is a concern then simply contact Berg who will gladly replace the watch...pretty simple if you ask me mistake.gif and Scuba Steve does your Monstrum actually rattle?

I don't own a Monstrum. I wouldn't buy one due to the use of a Miyota movement as much as I love the style of the watch. I guess rattle isn't what I should of said but rather noisy. I have had around a half dozen Miyota based watches and I never heard any rotor noise from any of them.

The watch defintely doesn't rattle - it's just that the noise of the rotor is a lot more noticable that my other watches.

I do recall a friends Breitling being quite noisy. I raised the topic as I wanted to know whether I had a duff one but everybody else has reported the same.

A tad annoying but not worth sending it back as this seems to be a traight.

If it's anything like the 'Valjoux wobble' then i wouldn't mind it at all...  Feeling that rotor spin from time to time is one of the coolest things about a mech. movement, for me...  JMHO.

Just got my first Orsa today, really pleased with ittoon1.gif. It makes a LOT less rotor noise than my Omega Seamaster Chrono, which cost x10 what the Orsa does.So cant be to critical of it, certanily cant see why anyone would be put off buying one because of this noise!
