Does anyone have any experience with the Corum "bubble" watch? I'm thinking of one as a gift for the wife. I've never seen the "bubble" in person. I am wondering if it is more prone to scratching since it is a bubble versus a flat piece of crystal.

Hi jsb - I have no experience with the ladies' version, but a buddy of mine here in Australia has the white face / silver numbers, date in 6, XL (45mm) version on a super-nice OEM mesh bracelet. It is a cracker. He abuses his watches and has never had a drama with the Corum. The crystal joins nicely flush with the case and it is a pretty neat, fluid design - nothing gets caught, and it is substantial enough to wear well with anything. He has scratched just about everything else he owns - including his car - but the watch remains flawless - go figure!

The crystal projects a good 6mm above the case, so it isn't a small dome. Of greater interst might be that the dome makes it difficult to read (when you aren't diving) at almost anything but the straight ahead view.

I guess that the domed crystal is likely to get in the road a bit more often than a flat crystal, but to each their own - I vote that it is a cool watch and worth looking at.  Just keep the receipt... !!

Cheers - IanM   hand6.gif

Had one but sold it last year. No issues on the crystal, it`s sapphire and I banged it more than a few times. It does protrude from the case. ( can I say protrude?):P

Saw one with an all silver dial with silver subs on the chrono. On the bracelet it looked very nice.
