Hi folks.
I'm a new member.

I recently purchased an Akribos DaVinci Skeleton from jtvwatches.

It's a beautiful watch, but it claims to be an automatic.
Forgive the newbie question, but how does it automatically wind without a large balance wheel ?

Regards,

f

That is not a automatic. It is a manual wind mechanical. Who ever did the data entry put the wrong info in. They have a bad habit of doing that. I wish someone would teach those guys watches 101 for very often they put in the wrong information.

That is a Asian mechanical movement. You have to hand wind it. Cool looking watch I almost went for one but decided to wait till later.

The manufacturer also had the gall to imprint "AUTOMATIC" right on the back of the case, too.

Did they send you the right watch. The DaVinici has a full exhibition case back. Do you have a pic of the one you received?

I don't have a good camera available at the moment, but it's definitely the 'right' watch.

It seems that I'm not the only one to be deceived by this issue.

I'll direct my grumpiness to JTV.

Thanks.

Well if they put automatic on a handcranker that booboo could be seen as making that watch a instant collectable. ;)

Is the word "automatic" on the case back crystal or on the movement?
