Looking at another Tauchmeister divers watch, this is reported to be waterproof to 1000m
What do you guys think? My current tauchmesiter is more pilot that diver.

Been reading about those watches: Well, first, it's no German watch... More like builded up in China with Citizen movements(maybe those mov are builded in Hong-Kong to...Who knows)
Some people scream because them Tauch. watch was leaking after a bath-tub or a hand washing experiment and somes says that it hold...
Somes say that the battery died within 3 months(???)
They are very cheap generaly but NOT recommanded for the 1000 meters they claim...
For the same range, I would recommand a Seiko model.
Also the helium valve been critisized to be Really hard to manipulate, specialy under diving...
There: You got what you pay for... A 100 buks watch...

LOL

Some very interesting feedback there :)
Must admit I have had no issues with the one I currently have and dont have the £500 for the Seiko or similar.

My personnal politic is: Better not buying any 100$ watches for 4-5 months and save the cash for a 600-800$ watch.
Because I'll just get many cheap watches I'm not fully satisfied with...
I like the real thing: Feel better on the wrist.
But you don't need to buy a Sea-Dweller for thatsubtlelaugh.gif
Found my Certina DS3 for 850 buks and I'm very pleased with it.
It's all a question of choice...

An inexpensive Chinese watch posing in German name. I wouldn't expect it to preform as a tool watch but they do have some funky designs. If you like the look and don't care much about claimed spec no big deal...

fun watch but not serious enough to be considered reliable in any depth of water imo,Asian brand that has been around some time and most of us have owned 1 at 1 time or other when they were selling for $60.a few years ago ;)

Agree with all views. Best to save the cash for something more substantial and worth the bucks.face4.gif

I've wondered how they could do it... on a solid 1000m watch, the crystal alone often costs almost $100 (sapphire)!  Been meaning to buy one of these to pick apart & check out...

just a sidenote...if you e-mail Tauchmeister direct and ask them to put you on their mailing list for clearance and sale items you can save some good $$$...the list is in German but there are pics! hand6.gif

I would be surprised if they could really even handle 100M. I had one and sold it. Fun watch but I never dared get it wet. LOL :D
