I was wondering what was your thoughts about the new sub from Steinhart. I like the specs, I like the price...
And the 44mm size! Somes will say: Another sub...
But are we tired of them?

I think it'll be another hit and it's probably well built, big bang for the buck... but I think the bezel size/proportions off maybe and do not like the writing on the rehaut (spelling?)

Yes, a bang for the buks: As usual with Steinhart...
I like the big bad bezels and for the inscription...
Well, when I look on the bright side, 44 is my favorite caliber

I do like it William, and no doubt it is a well built, great value from Steinhart.

Like you, I really like the size (which seems to be growing to approximate the incredible DSSD in dimension, although it is not nearly as thick as the DSSD), but I'm thinking this one may be trying too hard to look like the DSSD given that 'scripted' chapter ring...homerthinks.gif  ...hmmm

I give you right about the chapter ring Chris...
But it's giving some depth into the dial so, why not?

I don't know about this one... with the script on the flange and the dimensions it sort of over reaches homage and gets into a grey area in my mind. I'm with Chris...

But in general... sick of subs? No way!

Well, love the DSSD, but not gonna sell my car in the near future, so getting it is out of the question. So this is at least a way of getting that cool design at least. But gotta agree on this maybe over-stepping the hommage just a bit, cause difficult to get much closer to a "copy" than this, without acctually going all the way.
But that said, if they´re gonna go so close, why not give it that nice thickness also? Cause that´s one of the things that I especially like about the DSSD.
So guess I´m a little on the fence on this one, homerthinks.gif but, I like it ...

love the size and the price but like Chris and Mark said that script on the chapter ring is pushing the whole homage image imo.no.gif

That is a nice looking watch. I would prefer green lume rather than blue. Nice touch on the C ring even if it is a copy of another design.

The case isn't so close to the DSSD as you think...Take a look to the Helenarou casetoon1.gif
