If I remember correctly ETA 2824 with the Depraz module 2020. Foster wrote: Any idea what movement went into those 51 jewel Daniel JeanRichard chronos?

Not a movement person, but I think just a diff. look and the school of movement design they follow. Just a guess. I think that it is eayer to certify the 2824 movement than the 7750, then slap a module on it and charge more by everyone ETA, Manufacturer, distributor, and retailer. Good question they both are good, The watchmaker is going to charge an arm & leg for service for either one.:D The only advantage I see is the 2894 has a height of 6.1mm while v7750 is 7.9mm , some people don't like watches that are to tall. Manufacture can build a thinner chrono watch with the ETA 2894-2. That's the reason ETA made the 2894-2, thinnist chrono movement around. 6.1mm in height.:D:D for now. I'm no expert or a watchmaker , just a regular joe. KenC wrote: So........what is the advantage/disadvantage of this movement versus the Val 7750? :? My understanding of this may be way off base, but I thought the 2894 is based on the 2892, which is why it is so thin. I think they increased the diameter of the movement by the plates which allowed them to attach the mod and fit the gears of the mod.

You're not off base, the 2894-2 is based on the 2892, but ETA created there own module part 8510 ( Non Depraz module) to make the 2894-2 . There must be a reason why they made there own module instead of using Depraz module to make it thin. How they did it I don't know. But I do know it's 100% Eta movement, not a base 2824 with the Depraz module 2020, 51 jewels that some vendor make you believe is a 2894. that has the same dial layout as the ETA 2894-2 . e.avery wrote: My understanding of this may be way off base, but I thought the 2894 is based on the 2892, which is why it is so thin. Correction on the thinist chrono, The Piguet 1185 is 5.4 and 26.2mm, so it is clear that ETA is going after them with the 2894. :) http://home.xnet.com/~cmaddox/1185/3300_not_1185.html
