Thanks for the response, but when exactly was the end of the Zeno production run for Trias? I have been out of the loop for 3+ years (trying to stay out of it), my old hobby's tended to take up to much time. I thought they drooped the Zeno lines in favor of the Zeno B.. I appreciate the info. I tend to be isolated from the watch business in my current local, and enjoy it. de Luxe are used mostly on productions that aren't part of the standard retail collection. The company is named Zeno Watch or Zeno Watch Basel (after the location of it's HQ that is located in the city of Basel in Switzerland). The CEO Mr. Huber switches between the different styles of the logo, nobody except him will know why he uses different brand logos. The Huber family has connections to or holds shares of many swiss manufacturers and so they get a lot of NOS (new old stock), Roamer, Doxa, Vulcain, old MRS watches (i.e. Revue, Phoenix etc.) and they also produce several different brands beside Zeno. In most cases those brands are used for promotion watches, private labels or testing purposes (Rendex, Swiss Master, Swiss Golfer as example). They also have access to large quantities of rare NOS movements, i.e. A. Schild or FHF and use them for own and ordered productions. The Zeno brand consists of about 2000 different models and variations (without NOS) meanwhile but many of them are small scale lines only. They have a certain base retail collection that can be get in every country where you can find an official Zeno dealer. Others are either special lines made for specific markets or on order of importers and those are often not known by other distributors, so if you have doubts, ask in Switzerland directly. As Pax mentionend before, there are huge differences, the standard retail collection has only about 10 quartz/battery driven watches, all other are mechanical. All are swiss made but not all Zenos are. A whole bunch of models is driven by Citizen/Miyota movements, mostly calibres OS10 and OS20 and those movements are Japan made. Good, reliable movements but because of the origin the wathces are not allowed to be labeled swiss made (see FHS definition of the label). Zeno has - as most other maufacturers also - connections to Asia and gets parts from there. The guarantee card from Zeno is always the same, so Pax, we did not add it by accident, it's the real card that belongs to the item. The US distributor used a slightly different but it's issued by them not by Zeno, all distributors are companies on their own and try to give their products are unique look sometimes. We are supplied by Zeno Switzerland directly and are authorized to stamp the guarantee cards. Feel free to ask the HQ, they also know that we sell online. We can also get all currently available models, so no restrictions for us. Just a small note to Trias, please take a look at the comments on the Zeno website about the brand (and other imitations): http://www.zeno-watch.ch/en/Warning/Imitations/body_imitations.html I think they have made some watches for Trias in the beginning only. I've only heared that Zeno made some models for Trias and have seen some items with Zeno logo on the rotor (hidden under the steel case back) but i don't know when they stopped to or if they ever made one fully (you can get the movements with logo on their own if you have good relations). The message on the Zeno website is quite new, and Mr. Daniel Lieser (the owner of Trias) does not offer Zeno any more (he did before). I guess they've put too much pressure on the market by seeling Zeno retail models in a wholesale style to every online stores that also sells Trias, if it's a reputated one or not and regardless of the pricing. The Trias main online shop acts as a mastershop (template) to several others that are linked directly and get products from there, even some eBay stores are linked as far as in know. So every 'i know that a watch shows the time' guy can sell them. http://www.trias-uhren.de/ Trias has an extremly mixed range of products, mostly produced in Asia as far as i know. Mr. Lieser is in business since about 10 years and has really fantastic connections especially to Hong Kong. At the 2005 Baselworld we've even met him as an exhibitor for an Hong Kong based company ;) (maybe one of his own). They also produce several other brands on clients order in Asia. The logic behind the use of Zeno and Zeno Watch Basel is unknown to me, they still make both brandings, i'll ask Mr. Huber the next time i met him (end of August probably) but don't expect an answer, he's sometimes like an oyster. Thanks Alex for taking time to give us the skinny on Zeno and Trias ... MOST interesting. Like I said ...there's just something about a Zeno that makes me go "Aaah" ... Hello Pax, no problem, it may have sounded like a specific explanation to you only but in fact we also don't like like the branding and model confusion by Zeno and i'm a little tired to explain it several times a day:D Some models don't even have a model no. and arent named, take the so called Superluminova (black with luminous markers or fully luminous dial) for example, Japan Made Citizen/Miyota OS Chronograph branded with Zeno only, no model no., comes in a Zeno-Watch Basel leather pouch with a generic movement manual and a Zeno-Watch Basel guarantee card. The name Superluminova has been given to the model by the first importer (who ordered the first production, for the asian market i think) and has developped to a kind of model name now, but even on the Zeno invoices you won't find a name or reference no. for it, just something like Quartz, HAU 300 pcs. (HAU = Herrenarmbanduhr, men's wristwatch, opposite to DAU) So it is no wonder that we are asked about the authentency of those models so often. Anyway - they at least make good watches at a reasonable price level. Alex
