Well, not sure how "rare" it is, but I bought it because it was a bit out of the ordinary...the square body, brushed stainless finish, the shape if the dial (with the little cutouts), and the gilloched sunburst dial. The only strange thing about it is the duplication of the date on both the dial and in a date window. It even fit just perfectly...no links to remove or try to add.
