That is one classy looking watch sir.  I love the simple, clean face and hands.  Congratulations!

Great looking watch Ian.  I really like it on the leather!  I am not a fan of rubber straps.  So, the leather is sweet.  Wear it in good health.ThumbsUp02.gif

Gee thanks guys!

watchstuff, DEMO, Jan and Pax - I am gonna have to do some work on my photography, but will get some new pics in the next few days, cos I haven't done the watch justice yet.

Ken - if you do weaken, I reckon you will love it - just be prepared for it being a 42 and not a watch clock! Have worn it with dress shirts, jeans, sweatshirts - there is nothing that this thing, IMHO, does not go with.

willieboy - thats what I am thinking. The simpler the better - and this one sure isn't fussy.

scottran - on some dive wtches, I reckon rubber is fine, but somehow on this one it doesn't really work for me - the MKII strap feels too thin. The leather straps I have had in the (way distant) past were not always cheap - but they were always "stiff". That's what put me off them in the first place - but this Savage has changed my mind about leather forever. Its that good.

I would like to start another thread, but it will be subjective - I would like to know the group's opinion about the softest leather straps they have encountered.

Cheers all and thank you very much for the positive feedback. I'm luvvin it! (the feedback AND the watch!! :D)

IanM thankyou.gif

Ian...I'm not into watch clocks...I have a few 43/44mm and even a 45mm (I think), but to me the ideal size is 38mm to 42mm!

Then that is it, Ken - jump! You will truly love the work in these things. Much more subtle than my 44s and 45s.

Which model would ya jump at? The bund dial, the red tipped second hand, the dial with the numerals (as in photo 3 above)? The polished case might show some use at a later stage, but it was an inspired choice by Bill Yao - it looks absolutely spot on for this one. Tony's model looks more appropriate with the sandblasted finish IMHO.

I am thinking I might get one of both the bund dial and the dial with the numerals - I genuinely like them that much - and the time keeping is excellent right out of the box.

My Bob strap didn't arrive today :? - another coupla days before that hits here I guess. If I like it, I am going to order a natural (yellowy) 22/22 Bob Ostrich and a 24/24 brown buffalo just for the fun of it, along with matching screw-in polished and brushed huge pre-v buckles - to swap out on different watches. I'm gonna start having some fun with straps - they are (a little bit) cheaper than watches...   mistake.gif and they give new life to watches old and new. I am like a kid in a candy store at the moment.

Have a  great day Ken! IanM ThumbsUp02.gif. Camera_photos.gi will, of course, follow...
