A few quick observations about this watch....

The bracelet....Good comfort level and fine adjustment compared to most watches. I've got a better fit with this than my Seamaster. The bad side is that first impressions of the bracelet are that it's cheap and has a lightweight 'tin' type feel to it, but the comfort level overshadows this. Also, the divers extension doesn't lock into place inside the clasp. This annoys me whenever I take it off.

The case....It's obvious to me that whoever cleaned up the case was a little aggressive on the top of the lugs. I can see brush marks. Otherwise in excellent condition.

The dial/bezel...The bezel is tight. It took a little bit of effort to get the bezel to turn the first time, but loosened up appropriately once it was moving. The dial and crystal appear to be in excellent shape, but it appears the hands might have been replaced on a previous service. They lume on them looks newer, but maybe they've aged at a different rate than the dial.

It was purchased from a local store that has made a reputation for over 2oyrs dealing pre-owned Rolex. It's obviously previously owned with an unknown sevice history, but seemingly fairly well taken care off considering it's over 10yrs old. Overall I'm just happy to have it and glad my wife has afforded me the opportunity to own such an iconic watch.

Murph

You observations on the Sub are spot on.

I do like the older version with the drilled lugholes for the springbars.

That annoying extension can be held in place if you bend the clasp edges slightly.

The later style bracelet feels a bit heftier due to the solid end links.

Congrats for the authentic iconic timepiece!  One of the most influential model in the world, if not the most and we can easily see why, it's sooo beautiful.   hand6.gif
