So the postman was extra kind today and delivered a couple of gifts. It was very exciting. Almost like Christmas. I made myself wait, and take my time. Heck, I looked at the boxes on my desk for an hour before I opened them, is that wrong?
the Pyrolume comes with a personalized picture of your watch and your name on it.

Like she was dead in the water. So i exposed her to about 20 seconds of light and VOILA!

Comes on a nice fitting Pana**** Band.

Which I swapped out within minutes to see what a steel bracelet looked like on her.

This thing is pretty huge at 48mm across and 17mm deep

No matter what your thoughts are on this, I got an amazing deal. And I love the Novelty of a watch that not many people have. I was out with it for an hour, and had 3 people stop me and make comments. Now, we love watches for ourselves first and foremost. But we REALLY love it when some non watch person asks us about our watch, and gives us a chance to show our WIS.tism. This watch allowed it more in 60 minutes than ANY I have had before. so. Take that as you will......
Now on to the 2nd sweetness.

Dievas
Vintage Kampfschwimmer Sapphire

(nice touch. I need another place to hold my credit cards since apparently they burned a hole through my last wallet making me use them)

I feel like I did as a kid, when I got the Millennium Falcon, And the X-wing Fighter at the same time. I didnt know which one to play with first, SO, I think I am gonna start an argument with the lady, So I can sleep in the other bedroom, with these 2 babies laying on the pillow next to me. goofy
Im KIDDING!! (Ill be wearing them!) snoopy1.gif

Scott...really HOT acquisitions!!!ThumbsUp02.gif

Huge Congrats...it truly is like you are getting a second go-around at Christmas day...Sweet!!!

Those PyroLume pieces are really, really, ........unique...have to admit that they really look like nothing else on the market which is cool by me...hey, different strokes for differnt folks...the dial fonts that he uses on his PyroLume pieces really keep them looking on the truly unique side.

I don't see the PyroLume pieces as a "mainstream" piece at all...so I'm not surprised that you got alot of attention with this one "out on the street".  Your pics make it look like the Lume is really a TORCH...would love to read your impressions after you have some more time with it...the Lume looks amazing!!!

The Dievas Kampy Sapphire...well...what a classic, high quality looking piece!!!  Dievas is one of those brands that when you receive the piece...hold it in your hands...look it over really closely...you just sort of stand back and grin realizing you've got a unique, quality piece that holds more value than the price of entry.

I'm a huge Dievas fan...and the Kampy is one of those that I often think of adding to the collection...a true beauty...I love those blue hands and the implemention of the entire piece...Thumbsup3.gif...NICE.....

Congrats and enjoy!!!

Thank you sir, I will be doing a full review on the Pyro in the next few days. Make no mistake, I got a deal. (I promised the Doc I wouldnt discuss pricing when I did the review) It was definitely a novelty for me. I have been known to pick up a watch strictly for that reason before. (see: Renato T-REX. really, what the hell am I doing with that thing. its just so... HUGE) for me and the pyro to truly bond, I am thinking of sending it back to the Doc, or take it to my watch guy, and have a Miyota 8215 installed in it. (I asked him about putting a 2824-2, but he told me its hard to do as the hand stem is so short, and the aluminum dial is so thick) my ONLY issue with it is this. Being a watch freak, i KNOW the watch that was used for the teardown and now houses his dial and the miyoto quartz movement. So, I take the cost of the watch that I know was used. and then add the cost of the strap. and then think about the work he put in to make the dial. and painstakingly lume it. and I can live with myself. It really is unique. Im afraid to see what happens if I expose it to more than 30 seconds of light. I may die from UV Radiation.
The Dievas? wow. where to begin? I just wanna hold it and look at it. its laying next to my Debaufre right now. (united in Unitas) I have one small rectifiable issue with that watch.. I bought it from the original owner, and I can smell his cologne on the leather strap. I cant smell the nice old vintage leather at all. mistake.gif
Nice Kid, I Like him and think i need to take care of him for the deal I got on this watch, and his cologne doesnt stink. but.. Its not mine. (kill the cub mentality) I gotta get some mink oil or something, or leather oil.

WAY off the beaten path. Like in the woods lost off the Path. lol. ended up using the pyro as a night light last night, and wore the dievas. STILL wearing it matter of fact. I cant wait for a few hours of alone time, just me and her, and like 8 different straps to try on.
Hammer, that leather is sooo soft. The only other watch i have with leather that feels that soft is my PAM, I have way too many leather straps, and this is the way that I imagine all straps should feel like. but that wont stop me from trying out some combos!

party.gifScott, big congrats for two great timepieces.hand6.gif  I've been looking at PyroLume for a while and the first time a saw them, it looked so special and different, that I thought it was a very expensive watch...then i realized they were very affordable and after reading the history behind the brand with the Dr. doing is own lume and all, I though it was just too cool...They do have a version with the Unitas in it, it's a bit more expensive at $600, if I'm not mistaken, it's a lot of $ for an unknown brand but the Unitas MOVT is one of my fav hand cranker  and it's still reasonable IMHO for getting a unique timepiece with great lume and Swiss MOVT.   Yours just looks amazing, your the first here at 3T to show one and probably not the last!  Then, the Dievas, I've said that before, I'm no fan of cali. dial but hey, I can still appreciate the amazing amount of quality Dievas is putting in his timepieces.  I have no Dievas in my collection yet (yes i know, shame on me...) but I can say that I never heard anybody complaining about quality issue with this brand.  By the way, I would stick with a leather band for the Pyro, just my opinion, of course!;)  So well done bud, enjoy sleeping with you two new beauties tonight! subtlelaugh.gif

Scott, Congrats on the pickup! party.gif

The Pyrolume is certainly unique; I do like the aluminum dial. My opinion on the strap would be a vintage leather hand6.gif, rather than the steel. I would be interested to find out how the movement swap goes.

As far as the Cali dial Kampi Thumbsup3.gif

Daniel! You have to wear a Kampfschwimmer on your virgin wrist to understand the charm of it....It's like a mysterious spell who takes your soul, conquer your thoughts and convert you to the Cali-dial for ever...So be it...subtlelaugh.gif

I'm sure you're right Will, I've experimented it with other models that I didn't like at all on pictures and once on my wrist, I was in love.  The Seiko Monsters are among those...  And like you said, my wrist is still virgin, so it's waiting for the right one before spreading the legs! subtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gif
