I have not heard much at all. I just hope it is much more reliable and stable out of the box when they are done with beta than Vista was. So far I have liked WinXP Pro the best for over all use and out of the box so far I feel Win2000 was the best from the get go out the gate.

To me the biggest goofs have been NT4, ME and Vista :?

I just read that the beta leaked in December has been well-received.

Hucky this will be in Beta likely for 8 to 12 months baring any unforeseen issues. You will likely see it in new machine not long after and before it is sold separately.

If you want to follow closely watch the board on this forum. Top guys in the industry to general users there. I've known the Board moderators for years and the top fella for about 8 years. He is a MS geek and dose not allow crap. Very reliable place to glean MS info. ;)

Skip, Thanks

What does Beta Mean to a computer challenged guy like myself?

When it is no longer Beta, then what does it Morph into?

Thanks skip

Huck

I guess this is an admission that Vista not only sucked, but that it sucked! subtlelaugh.gif  Obviously it is as big a failure as Windows ME...but the did get us Windows 2K Pro and then 2K Pro with bells & whistles called Windows XP which has been a damn good system (yes, MAC users...we know the chant of the cult...).

By the way, not only is Skip a renown Beta tester...he has been granted the exalted title of MASTER Beta Tester! toon1.gif

Now that's freakin' hilarious... on about five different levels!!

And yes, I think this is an outright admission of Vista being crap. I can't tell you how many casual users I know who start off loving their new Vista boxes and then come looking a month later for someone to wipe their slate clean and get them back on XP. face4.gif

LOL :D I did beta test 95, 98, ME and 2000. But not XP or Vista. I do have a spare box here I may drop this Win(7) on if I think I will have the time to really play with it.

IE8 may be here this Spring (3 or 4 months) too if all goes well. ;)
