Even though this performance was originally done several years ago, I was catching the 2009 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concert recently (which had tons of great performances by many incredible artists), and this particular performance of 'Ghost of Tom Joad' by Bruce Springsteen & Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine really blew me away.

My music preferences run a very broad spectrum of musical styles, but this performance really grabbed my attention as the arrangement and delivery by these guys really built the song up perfectly and Tom Morello's non-conventional guitar acrobatics had my chin dropping big time.

Found the performance on youtube and thought I'd share if you've got a spare 9 minutes, 3 seconds.

Cheers!

Hey Chris,

this is really a great guitar performance. I love it very much.

I have seen this concert a few month ago and was very very impressed like you.

Absolutely amazing ! bravo.gif

I love guitar music like Fleetwood Mac. Especially the guitar performance of Lindsey Buckingham.
Or the great Mark Knopfler !

Phil,

Your definitely right about Mark Knopfler! This is a live video of Dire Straights with Eric Clapton and one of their biggest hits "Sultans Of Swing".

You know you can play when Clapton's playing rhythm for you!

Eric - agreed, RATM did a sweet cover of this original folk song 'ghost of Tom Joad'. One of the reasons I really think this duo put out a great duet version of this one at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concert.

Bill - great link to the always excellent Mark Knopfler and Sultans of Swing from his Dire Straights days.
