I found out today that the Megalodon will be bigger in size than the Sea Devil and I was SO bummed out!  crap.gif  I have tiny wrists and the Sea Devil is about as big a watch as I can take.  I love my Sea Devil was so looking forward to my red or blue carbon fiber Megalodon but now I will have to pass on it.  Anyone here have the same problem?  I need a Microdon!

Here's my 2 cents....I believe that the style of this case, even though the diameter will be larger my guess is it will actually seem to wear smaller, again just my opinion.

Based on the fact that the first run will be only 100 watches, and the fact that more than 20% of those are gone in less than 5 hours after Ralf made the price announcement there will be a lot of people that miss out on this.

If I was you and was not sure on the size I would buy one anyway....if it does turn out to be too big I'm sure there will be a lot of guys looking for one.

Again, just my opinion but come 6 months down the road, when this watch is released, you may be thanking me.

Thanks for your feedback.  If the dial is bigger but the lug to lug distance were the same, I'd be okay with it but I believe that the lug to lug distance will be bigger too.  The lugs will be hanging off the sides of my wrist!

Give it time other size watches will pop up. I've passed on many a watch over the years for being to small. Life of a WIS. ;)

I really like the Megalodon with red carbon fiber dial, however, I feel the same way as you about the size. I guess 44-45mm watch is about the largest watch that I can wear, therefore, not so sure whether I'll go for the Megalodon  ;)

However, I see lots of people wear over-oversize watch and it's probably the matter of us to get use to it  :P. It may turn out nice once we are familiar with that over-oversize watch on our wrist then .

from day 1 the Megalodon was going to be 47-49mm thus the name Megalodon so I don't know why you would be bummed?...and there is no carbon fiber dial...not all watches are made for everyone that's why there is such a wide variety...go for a Moray hand6.gif..the Megalodon will sell out more than likely in pre-order imho based on the awesome value and design with a eta 2824 yahoo.gif

I was hoping that it would be 47 instead of 49. Unless I misunderstood, ralf did not rule out carbon fiber.

in trying to keep everyone on the same page this is what Ralf posted on the Megalodon and what it will be,size, price, movement and when it may be in production(5-6 mos.away)....1st 4 dials pictured ....no carbon fiber for the 1st 100 hand6.gif

Today I got news from the MEGALODON

The quotation is much higher than I thought, but ok with some small changes it could work and we can stay by the $550 early pre order price.

I still have to sell Sea Devils , the Moray will come and I also have to pay my long long time ago ordered Fricker Divers.
Normally this is the worst time to start a new project
but the Megalodon created so much interest that I cannot say it is only a dream.
I want it and I guess and hope you too.

Now what is finally most important  for me is how many will really buy for $550 (in steel) with $250 deposit with the conditions below.

- Expected release is in 5 month - 6 month
 -Eta 2824 movement
 -47mm case with 49mm bezel
- Steel bracelet
- bezel design #1 but with 3 different options, luminos acrylic or enamel , alloy inlay      and  steel
- sapphire cristal
- WR minimum 500m maybe a bit more
- very very close to the design below  (first 4 dials only) brushed dark grey and different hands

I know we discused a second dial but almost all who asked me for a reservation asked for dial one, so I think if the interest is really as high I have to make 100 pcs from dial one to satisfy all reservations

 It can become reality!

Btw.

PVD coating ($50) or DLC coating( I still have to check the exact price ) is also possible
