Welcome to 3T. Saw your post and then gone. Take a minute and feel it out as O said. Alpina Avalanche Extreme, huh? Why would anyone do such a thing?? Put mine on the rubber strap a while back. Makes it another watch and uber-comfy too! ![]()

That is nice! Really Nice! What size is your wrist? Mine is 7.5". And, I have worn some good size watches. I think at 48mm, the Alpina would be just fine. The Swiss Army Air Boss Mach IV wore very well. I have even (again :D) considered the Glycine F 104 (53mm). A buddy of mine bought one on my telling him about the Glycine brand. That one, I am always on the fence about. It's big! And, yes, the articulated lugs do help! Ha! Last edited on Sat Mar 8th, 2008 10:06 am by GKH |

Hey thanks. The Alpina is one of my true keepers. My wrist is 7.25 at most. I have had no issue wearing this watch, but I do have a penchant for large watches. I think I might draw the line at 50mm and above but one never knows... I think our very own Oagaspar has the Glycine F-104. Perhaps he'll dazzle us with a wrist shot. I am gonna guess his wrist size is pretty close to mine because I received watches from him and not resized them.

Here are a couple of shots of my friend's F 104 that I took right after he bought it.. on my wrist... Alongside my Ball Fireman (43mm).. - Greg Last edited on Sat Mar 8th, 2008 11:26 am by GKH |

Jeez, Greg... We must have similar tastes. I also have a Fireman. Lume on the Alpina is adequate but in no way inpressive. If I had a complaint it would be the lume. If you prefer a real strong glow this watch will disappoint in that regard. The F-104 looks great on your wrist. The articulating lugs make a world of difference.

Oh yeah! They have really great lume! I sold the Fireman in 2007. I thought it was a keeper... I really liked it too! Something else was calling. But, then; I think every one I buy is going to be a keeper! What I have now are these..... O&W 6497XXL, Rado Diastar Original Automatic, Citizen Oxy automatic on s/s, 1970 Accutron Spaceview, Citizen Solar-Tech Eco Drive Ti World Timer, Timex Ironman, Citizen Noblia Calendar, and a few others.. - Greg Last edited on Sat Mar 8th, 2008 12:34 pm by GKH |
